New Look For Feud
« on: September 09, 2005, 05:14:04 PM »
Come Monday, things will look a little different on Family Feud. It's the same set, but dressed up a little. OK, a lot. First thing you'll notice is that there are a lot more lights - several rows of classsic-style white lights on each side of the board, and some more in an oval around the board itself (kinda like in Louie Anderson's day). They've added a few new color gels for the background, with purple and yellow figuring prominently near the leading edge of the families' podiums during play. The walls behind the families now sport a layered look, with lights between each of the layers. The most jarring change is underneath the big board, where there's now a grid of interlocking squares that kind of clashes with the art deco flavor added to the rest of the set. I think it's nice, but the squares under the board are really unnecessary. B+.

Sounds nice...but I did like the set as it was before!

And how did you find this out?

Does the audience still go nuts over it? I hope not. *crosses fingers*

Well, it's in his contract. *ducks*
The countdown to 100 ended awhile ago, why are you still here?

Have they removed Richard Karn's toothmarks from the scenery?

Well said. Anything to jack up ye olde post count, wot?
Now! How about the music? Tis the same? And have they gone to an unlimited wins format in case the Jennings or Madden families decide to compete?

Music's the same, Burton's still the announcer, and it's still a 5-time limit for champions.

I've been wondering how the background changes to so many different colors.  (Another such example, albeit not the most on-topic one, would be So You Think You Can Dance.)  Looks a lot more complex than just shining different colors of lights on a tall white curtain.

Actually, some of the audience members start foaming at the mouth.

Well, that's only natural. Hopefully, they'll show this.....right when I'm sitting down to dinner.

Let's hope they don't foam from anywhere else...
