[quote name=\'fostergray82\' date=\'Jan 24 2005, 09:32 AM\']Randy, is there any way you could get Ed to this board? When I was younger, I seriously wanted to get into set design, and always closely checked out Ed's work (among others such as Bente Christensen and John Mula). I'd love to see his stories. :-)

Ed lives on a remote ranch (with actual animals!) out in the middle of nowhere, and I really don't know if he even has internet access at home. Sorry. I can only suggest that you shoot me an e-mail when things calm down on TPiR-Live in a couple of months. I'll let you know if Ed and my paths are crossing again.

I checked out Bente for a different reason...
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Stupid question, but is it going to be rerun any time in the near future to anyone's knowledge?

Twas a well-done show. I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing about Jack Clark, but that was expected. I thought the short-lived expansion to an hour might have been mentioned. Rolf is a good sport. There was a goof I caught when it was mentioned that CBS dropped the daytime show in September 1991, when in fact the game had moved back to NBC by then. But there was so much right about the documentary (as opposed to other E! THS offerings) I can overlook it.

They also mentioned he sold his stake of Wheel, I think, in 1986.

Wasn't it a bit later than that?

I thought it was pretty good. We finally got to see what the elusive "Buy a Vowel" space looked like! (And a $25 space on the Wheel!)

As for a very brief Rolf segment: I thought the show gave as much information as they could on such a short era. Rolf seemed rather diplomatic talking about the show, not as bitter as I thought. He seems to have aged very well.

I thought all the Goen segments were rather rushed. (Why was Goen a no-show?)

Knock, knock...
Who's there?
Goen...
Goen who?
Go and hmmm yourself.

I thought a better line would have been "Goen to CBS!"

Anyone notice how Pat actually spells his last name?

In the copies they show of Pat's marriage license, and later in the show, his divorce papers, his signature reads "Patrick Sadjak"

I imagine it's still pronounced the same way, but for some reason Pat dropped the "d".

Could be legal reasons.  Most people in show business have an actual different spelling to their name or have a stage name for that matter.

Exactly. Not uncommon at all, ESPECIALLY in radio, where Pat built up much of his career. To this day, in fact, I am surprised that I've used my real name for the majority of my radio career.

Has anybody ever noticed the connection? Dave Letterman, former weatherman(I think WISH in Indy, but in Indy for sure), TALK SHOW HOST. Pat Sajak, former weatherman(KNBC), GAME SHOW HOST. Rich Fields, weatherman in Palm Springs, PRICE IS RIGHT ANNOUNCER!

Hey Randy, get your degree in meteorology and you can have Charlie O's or Johnny G's jobs after they retire!

I agree.  If you had my last name, Chris, you'd change it in a heartbeat!
