but that still doesn\'t necessarily mean they acquired the PAX version -- it could well be from the 2000 episode they paid to show back in 2006.

When it aired on PAX...that era started in spring of 2000.

It\'s definitely from the PAX era (the Lifetime and Family Channel versions had white floors with various patterns), but that still doesn\'t necessarily mean they acquired the PAX version -- it could well be from the 2000 episode they paid to show back in 2006.

I was only trying to help, by adding a bit of factual matter to the discussion.  Thanks for your consideration.

Since nobody mentioned (or likely, nobody actually cares), they are starting with (year) 2000 episodes.

I, for one, am disappointed. I was hoping they would start from the very beginning with the original 1991 Lifetime run. I had just finished converting the first week of that run onto my flash stick. Has GSN forgotten that someone who hosted one of their past originals started out as the original announcer on STYD?

Heck, I\'m just thrilled they\'re not airing the JD Roberto swill.

I think most of us will agree to this.

Wait, why is the JD Roberto version so harshly criticized? I don\'t remember much being wrong with it, even the obvious set change.

Some of the fun went out the door in this version.  While the Finn versions would have stunts that occasionally involved physical action or things in pop culture, the Roberto version was limited to pricing games (Which is $89), IIRC.

Whatever charm and fun was on the original Lifetime/PAX version (and it variously was fun and charming at points) was lost with the change to quizzing instead of stunts.

Roberto wasn\'t a particularly good host, the front game format switch didn\'t really benefit anyone or anything, the warehouse store setup wasn\'t as fun, and don\'t mention the lyrical theme.

Because that phrase is quite often misused as it was there. Words. Meanings. That thing.
