How about MFSB's TSOP ("The Sound Of Philadelphia") as a good game show theme? Too bad the folks at "Soul Train" beat to the punch decades ago.

However, two other MFSB songs - Sexy and Philadelphia Freedom - were used as cues on LMaD '80, usually during the Big Deal, as per Mark J.

I heard there's a great beat in the song by Santa Esmeralda called "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood."

You really hit the bullseye w/that one. :-D

At GSC7 back in 98, as TimK will tell you, the instrumental portions of "Get it On" by Chase made a fine theme for The Big Showdown.

My vote: From the late '60s, "The Horse" by Cliff Nobles & Co.

In 1988 when Fleetwood Mac's "Everywhere" was a hit, I remember a radio DJ stating over the intro of the song "...this sounds like game show music, doesn't it?"

How about a couple of Quincy Jones collaborations, "Stomp" and "Ai No Corrida."
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Two more came to me...one would be Elton John's "Island Girl." The chorus sounds like it could make a decent song.

Then there's "Hella Good," by No Doubt. I know it's recent, but it was actually pretty catchy, esp. for a recent song. :-/
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

Actually, several newscasts around the country used a speeded up version of the middle few bars (where the horns come in with the 'dah-dah-daaa-da-da-daa-daa-daaaaa!") as their news theme in the 70s. It worked quite well.

And how come nobody has used "Word Up" for a suggested Password revival?

(Of course, most of what we hear has lyrics, and as we all know no good game show theme has had lyrics, and if you say so, it's a lie, lie, you're telling a lie...)
This isn't a plug, but you can ask me about my book.

From the late 90's:
The opening and the bass line for the song "The Most Expensive Girl In The World", by Lou Bega.

From the 80's
"Twistin By The Pool" by Dire Straits

I'm gonna put in a vote for Pizzicato Five's "Tout Tout Pour Ma Cherie." It's on The Fifth Release From Matador. Hooky, horny, and fast. Care for a sample? (track 10)
