I don't think there's enough time in the show to play two games of PYL without both of them being edited to death.
You're in a room. You're wearing a silly hat.
There are letters on the floor. They spell "NOPE".

Tell the contestants they don't have to deliver a monologue before every play/pass decision, tell Elizabeth to stop dragging down the proceedings to ask contestants how they're feeling, and don't try to make a meal out of every prize value reveal.

They could fit an unedited main game into a half hour if they wanted to.

My suggestion would be to play two shortened complete games. Three contestants play the first game. The high scoring player stays on stage while three new players play another full game - maybe just three questions per round, as the free spins on the board can make up for earning fewer spins to start. The challenge in the second game is to have one of the players top the winner of the first one. If no one in the second game earns more than the winner in the first game, the first round champ goes on to play a shorter but high stakes bonus - something that can be played out within, say, 10 minutes max. Obviously, if someone in game two beats the high total of the game one player, they go to the bonus. Good for extra tension as the first round champ sweats over every second game spin.
Back to the orig topic, the front game of Let's Play Post Office beat the bonus quickies - they were like the Stewart "Riddlers" bonus lines.

Pretty sure the Banks version is already three questions per round, isn't it?

The standard is 3 questions in the first round and 4 in the second. Early in the first season, it was 4 and 4, and apparently in season 2, they had 3 and 3 for some episodes. (No idea if perhaps they were playing 4 in the second round, but edited one out.)

Reminds me of the dialogue I would have loved to see on 500 [sic] Q, although of course it would have been edited out if any contestant tried it:

Host: Why did you select [category contestant selected]?
Contestant: Because I want to get on with the fucking game already.

Another thought: three contestants play one round with five or six questions, then three more contestants play one round, then the two best scorers face off in a final higher-stakes round to determine the winner. (No bonus round.)

It's funny because I think the PYL bonus round is probably best watched live and in person. One of the most exciting moments they've ever had was one where the clock didn't matter because the contestant was in range and it came down to the last prize they hit and its value. But I agree that it doesn't happen often and usually it comes down to whether or not they'll leave with something significant.
