I would want as close to zero double overs as possible because you don’t want the last memory of the show being the Spoilers Victory sounder and nobody celebrating their new boat or trips
I think a 2 player/1 showcase variant self corrects over time. There may be more double overbidding in the beginning , but then you’ll see strategies change because of it.

In 1995, on the old a.t.g-s, I proposed what such a show would look like.

/Trying not to think about the fact that was 30 years ago.

More commercial time I imagine.

Going back to the ioriginal post—that break period is a reality, and unless creators and producers can claw back those minutes you can call it criminal or economics, it just is. I quite like Chelsea’s idea to take the show shopping if CBS can’t give some time back on a daytime institution.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

I will expand on this point and say that the 10am feed is only really used in the Eastern time zone and not much of anywhere else in the country... who tend to use the afternoon feed. It's not practical to attempt such a radical thing as a 45/75 split.

More to the point, which show do you assassinate by forcing it to start at either :15 or :45 past the hour?

I concur with Chelsea.  Now that TPIR has moved out of TV City, Fremantle doesn't have to feel as guilty if they take Price from the network altogether.  I'm sure CBS would still want to hang onto LMAD if that situation ever arose, unless they just give that hour back to the affiliates.

I don't think LMAD has lost as much show time over the years since their 60-minute premiere.  At least with Wayne's show, they can cut or shorten up a deal segment if they need more commercial time in the future.
