Survivor: Contestants spend 30 days in a lavish hotel. Every few days members of each tribe vote for one member to be stranded in the wilderness for good.

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

If you limited the contestant pool to politicians, lawyers, and people who create pharmaceutical ads... I'd totally watch.

To Tell The Truth going to returning champions.

I've always felt successful plaintiffs on The People's Court should be able to come back and keep suing people until they lose.

3 on a Match, balance a plastic number 3 on the end of a match  stick.

How about specializing this for pricing games?

Safe Crackers - If you fail to crack the safe, the host opens the safe and the player remains locked inside for the duration of the show.

Spelling Bee - Players must wear beekeeping garb while playing the game.

No matter what the prize is you try to price in RANGE Game, if you do so, you only win a range.

Secret "X", the position of the hidden "X" is never revealed since it's SECRET X!

Jeopardy!  Finish with a negative score and you must repay the show on the spot or risk being placed in the Jeopardy jail cell in the basement of the Alex Trebek stage.

From Bob Stewart:  Shoot For The Stars, contestants take water pistols outdoors at night and take aim at various constellations in the sky.

From reality TV Dog Eat Dog, players have their pets in a race to see who can finish eating a hot dog in the shortest amount of time.

High Rollers - Requires all players to either use cannabis before playing in a match or they must play the game standing on 8 feet high stilts.

Card Sharks - If you make an error in the game, you must outswim a shark for 10 seconds.

Tic Tac Dough, players must knead dough and bake bread while at the same time feeding their opponents breath mints (Tic Tacs).

The Joker's Wild: The contestants have what the emcee is having.
I've Got a Secret: No longer just for fun, the contestants pay the panelists more money the closer they get.

Okay...I'm already a fan of the show but I'd watch this.

Pass the Buck:  Instead of playing for a jackpot that grows $25 with each correct answer, the contestants pass around a $1 bill which the winning player will get to keep.

Shop 'Til You Drop:  The winning couple must go from store to store picking up as many prizes as they can carry in their hands.  The game ends when any or all of their prizes fall on the floor, but they do get to keep anything still in their hands at that point.

Lingo:  All the words used are slang terms.

Winning Streak.  Every time you give an answer not found in Webster's Third you lose an article of clothing.  Last one with anything beyond underpants is declared the winner.

Honestly, that would be less convoluted than the show's actual rules were.

And right on-topic for 1974 considering what happened at the Oscars that year.

While I never directly confirmed it with Bob, I've been told the show had several different names during development and that after the Oscars incident and the release of the Stevens hit (I still get nightmares remembering the ubiquitous direct response spots for his "best of " tapes that would turn up overnights on cable networks in the 80s) someone at NBC suggested they needed to have something with the world streak in it.

If only they focused on the content as much as the brand...
