--- Quote ---Fremantle is betting big on letters, acquiring international production and distribution rights to “Scrabble,” the gameshow adaptation of Hasbro and Mattel’s iconic wordplay board game that has been performing well for The CW since its October launch.

This seems to me to be saying that Fremantle bought the rights to try to sell the CW Scrabble format outside the US, and that this deal has nothing to do with the show Chuck Woolery hosted.
--- End quote ---

My mistake. Guess I got too excited and jumped over that vital detail.

--- Quote ---The acquisition bolsters Fremantle’s portfolio of legacy game show formats, joining other recognizable titles like “The Price is Right,” “Deal or No Deal,” and “Family Feud.”

Fremantle owns Deal Or No Deal? Did I miss something?

Yeah.... I don't know about that one. I thought Endemol owned that format.

From my sources, this effectively paves the way for the legacy scrabble to be utilized by BUZZR much like the settlement with NBC allowed Classic Concentration (and I believe the Narz version as well) to finally show up on a Fremantle-owner service.  I can attest that neither title was even offered to me during my buyer days.
