As I understand it, nobody wants to go to the trouble and expense of transferring new shows for a silly stunt that airs at three in the morning.  I believe that even the digitized product that GSN originally transferred is approaching obsolescence now because of the rapid changes and format shift in digital broadcasting.  Consider this:  In 2024, we are as far away from GSN's launch in 1994 as they were at the time from the tail end of that black and while kinescope era.

Besides the syndicated episodes, I was very surprised at how accurate the date and guest information was in my guide. GSN supplied them with good information this time.

According to GSN's online schedule, the last day has a Blyden WML? with Peter Marshall as the mystery guest and an IGAS from the 1972-73 season with Charles Nelson Reilly.

jjman920:
Catching up on some things about these airings. When I went to watch the New Year's Day 1962 episode of IGAS with Dick Van Dyke as the guest, GSN fades immediately from Dick Van Dyke saying "I've Got a Secret" and the opening notes of the theme to the first contestant telling Garry their secret. There's really barely enough time to even read what the secret is without pausing the show. It looks like it has aired this way on Buzzr in the past and apparently way back on Game Show Network previously. Though at least on Game Show Network, they'd at least play through the theme and the sponsor (Dream Whip) before then cutting to that same point.

Did it ever air normally on GSN? Or was this some edit done to the show before it was converted for whatever reason? Just such an odd edit to completely remove the host and panel introductions. Especially when one of the regular panelists wasn't even there that week.

TLEberle:
Watching an early episode of Line  (MG Artie Shaw, panelists include Untermeyer and Hoffman) where everyone is talking over each other and Secret (original set up with the jury box and twice down the panel at ten dollars a throw) you could be excused thinking that the panel game was destined for the dustbin of history instead of being a classical pillar of the genre.
