eBay Finds 2024
Bob Zager:
Here with a $1,500 asking price is an unopened package of Mattel Instant Replay mini-records promoting Sports Challenge:

I wonder how many of these Sports Challenge related sets were produced.
Bob Zager:
I was amazed to find quite a few photos from this seller (from Australia), but just copied/pasted two particular listings here, showing a couple of interesting observations:

When you look at the next one, you will notice, only the main game desks and background props are now blue.

If you look closely, you'll see Dick Clark's podium showing "$10,000," and the front of his station is still in orange (the top and sides are blue).
There are more than just these two for sale, but just wanted to make note of these two. You can look them up by seller. BTW, the seller assumed that they were marking an anniversary. Actually, it was Clark's birthday they were celebrating.
I decided to show each of these whole pages, in case anyone would like to bid/purchase them.

Also in that lot is a wide shot from the balcony, and the "10" on the left side revealing the contestant-facing scoreboard

Matt Ottinger:
Caveat emptor.
These are Getty Images images. The seller has simply captured (which is to say "stolen") the low-resolution photos off their website. They're better than thumbnails, but nowhere remotely approaching professional quality. If you were to order from him, all you would get is a pretty grainy 8 1/2 x 11 physical copy of that small image. Regardless of the legal ramifications of using Getty stuff without their permission, there's also the skeeziness of giving money to a blatant thief trying to profit in such a crassly obvious way off of someone else's material. Not to mention that he's not really providing any service you couldn't simply do yourself.

Adam Nedeff:
Chiming in to say, as a burn victim, screw the seller from Australia. He's selling 8x10s, but he's downloading a small resolution version of the image from Getty (they have different price tiers for different resolutions) and printing them on 8x10. They're pixelated AF, and in fact, the link Bob posted shows he's actually getting careless about how he's posting his images on his Ebay listings. You see how crappy that photo looks when you enlarge it? There's nothing wrong with Ebay; THAT is what you'll be getting. It's going to look that bad. When I bought images from him, he had the listings set up so you couldn't enlarge the image. I figured I just got incredibly lucky with a foreign seller who ended up with a lot of pics from the CBS vault. I bought 15 photos and every one of them was blurry, pixelated garbage.
DO NOT BUY ANY PHOTOS FROM THIS SELLER.
