Slumdog Millionare picks up 10 Oscar nominations...

2nd in nominations overall...

(My take? It's got a shot at Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Song-it's got 2 nominations of the 3 in the category, though I think Springsteen got robbed here. I would think 2-4 wins overall, maybe 5 or 6 if it's really lucky...)

Probably the only one at this forum, yes.

Didn't pay too much attention to trade news and stuff.  But it showed up in preview when I watched Happy Go Lucky a few months back at the local Angelika (major art cinemaplex three miles from home = score).  If, OTOH, your movie-going experience is mainly at the local AMC 666, or if you're not in a larger city, then yeah, you're not going to have heard too much about it.

I grew up in a "city" of about 75,000.  Slumdog Millionaire would never appear at a theater there before Oscar time, and usually not after either.  Now in Houston, I watched it a month before the Golden Globes.
