Mark Burnett's Wheel of Letters...

Burnett's newest idea is a word game meeting a casino game--he and Fox TV Studios, 20th's cable/reality division, are going to produce pilots for various countries (including the U.S.) in South America (with contestants and talent flown in) (WARNING:  Variety-ese):

Basic premise (for those who don't want to see Variety-ese) is that contestants spin a wheel to pick letters, then bet on how many words they can come up in a time frame.

Interesting. As an old game collector, the faint part of my memory recalls an E.S. Lowe game that used the same principle. As you spun one of their classic plastic roulette wheels with letters instead of numbers, you'd drop in several small plastic balls and develop words from the letter slots they landed in. I think it was called Wordmasters.

Yep. Just spotted info on another website. 1969.

Another example of everything old being new again.
