TTD "Over 80" Tournament

Last time GSN ran this, did they show the entire thing?  Today we "started" the tournament, but it looks like we lost the first two episodes for whatever reason (tapes lost or damaged would be my guess) as we start on Wednesday's episode

These shows are from 1979 correct? That would mean most of those people were born in the 1800s.

Goes to show just how old these reruns are getting...

I hope some of the contestants can call into GSN Live this week.

What irked me when watching this tournament for the first time was that most of the questions were mutliple-choice.

The contestants are over the age of 80. Do you REALLY expect them to be that sharp? Do you really think it's good TV to watch someone that age try to fumble for an answer?

(Not making fun of octogenarians, just sayin')

Well played with a point to Lambert for the assist. :-)

Wow, the guy with the Spongebob Squarepants quote in his sig line is disparaging the intellectual prowess of senior citizens.  Priceless.

(I couldn't let this one go.  No apologies.  I accept whatever punishment comes my way.)

No punishment coming.

I'm amazed for a different reason.  Usually Bobby doesn't mind when the process of winning money is made easier.

I'm puzzled. What's bad about being irked about the questions being multiple choice, instead of crediting the contestants with enough recall ability to answer a question straight?

I'm no Bobby fan (At. All.) but it seems to me that disparaging them is precisely the opposite of what he's doing.

I kinda wish they'd have senior citizen specials on current game shows.  Some of them are amazingly sharp, like the guy in England who's 100 years old, plays bass guitar in a band, and is gearing up to run the London marathon (complete with a booze and cigarette break).

\Do you suppose that if Fred Roggin had a stroke, his eyebrows would level out?

I liked the J! tournament for exactly that reason.

No, but he would instantly become 40% more talented.

[/quote]Well, no. It's actually from around October, 1980.

I must say, the 96-year-old woman has been doing splendidly. The others looked great for their ages. Mostly due to good health and clean living. :)
