Wheel! Of! Facts!

In honor of a certain long-running game show taping in Chicago this week, the Tribune has a neat graphic on the front page of the Tempo section showing all sorts of "Wheel" trivia, replicated cleverly in this little Flash animation:

What you don't see is the masthead on the Tempo section, where Vanna stands next to the section title, which is presented today as:

TE_P_

Plus an article about an uncle and nephew who together are on "Wheel"'s stage crew:

With at the top the Tribune's special--WheelCam!  Ooohhh...

It's a neat little attempt, too bad Fact #5 is wrong:

No longer used: The “Surprise” wedge, where contestants win a special prize if they solve the puzzle; and the “Double Play” token, which allowed players to call two consonants on the same spin.

It also mentioned that the pilot was shot in 1975. Considering it debuted in January of that year, that's one hell of a turnaround. :-P
"I just wanna give a shoutout to my homies in their late-30s who are watching this on Paramount+ right now, cause they couldn't stay up late enough to watch it live!"

Now celebrating his 21st season on GSF!

Thanks for posting this.  Great guys.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS
