Two Candidates and Host Named of "Governor..."
« on: August 15, 2003, 04:18:32 PM »
Former child star Gary Coleman and porn star Mary Carey were confirmed in the same press conference that announced Kennedy as the host of this new show; the press release can be seen at http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/030815/laf026_1.html. Furthermore, it says that Kennedy will act as the Political Coorespondant for the network. She says in the press conference, \"Americans need escapist entertainment now more than ever. With all the anxiety over the power outage, the economy and the war on terrorism, we are in desperate need of distraction. Thank God for recall-mania.\" I must say that I agree completely!

Furthermore, the network has said that it has been receiving many phones calls from candidates wanting on the show.

I think Kennedy is the perfect choice to host this particular show. She has proven from hosting \"Friend or Foe\" that she is  intelligent, witty and personable. For Kennedy alone, I would watch this show. Frankly, it is the only reason why I ever watched \"Friend or Foe\".

As far as Gary Coleman being on the show, I am not surprised. Being a spoof of the election I could not think of a more perfect \"contestant.\" I am sure middle America will just love the porn star. LOL

Ya want to know what's scary? I find some of Carey's ideas rather intelligent. Some of them are laughable, but some are very good ideas. And, she does make a point -- she is going to get a lot of porn stars and strippers to vote that have never voted before; she has gotten many of them to at least register. I don't think I would vote for her to be governor, but some of her ideas could certainly make revenue for California.

Look on the bright side: Steve Beverly won't have to spend a whole bunch of time searching for the contestants' last names.  :-p

Or for that elusive Mary Carey filmography.

C'mon, Steve, loosen up a bit...can't pretend there's no such thing as porno.
