Ahmad Rashad....though after meeting him on the golf course last week, his good graces with me end on the stage...in person, he's a tool....

But check him out at the Ahmad Rashad Oral B Pulsar Celebrity Players Tour at the Mohegan Sun this weekend...that is , if he even shows....

OB GS : John O Hurley will be playing. He's a former game show host. And I'll be playing in the pro-am. I'm not a former game show host.

I always thought Jim McKrell deserved another chance - he handled "Celebrity Sweepstakes" pretty well during its three-year run.  OK, technically he did host another one ("Quiz Kids"), but I never saw it, and I don't think it was carried in very many markets.

For those who rightfuly only hosted one:  I'd have to agree with Patrick Wayne.  But I'd also add Richard Karn to that list - I still don't think he's a good fit to host a game show.

He also hosted the Game Game and Genesis:The Family Bible Game Show(a pilot or whatever that was aired on Easter Sunday 2000 on PAX), plus a few unsold pilots.

Not just technically, but officially. Jim also helmed The Game Game.

Yeah...you're right.  I even have a couple of episodes of it - I just forgot.  But that game is kind of forgettable!  He should have had another network shot *after* Sweepstakes.
I thought Lew Schneider and Michael Carrington were alright, considering what they were given.

I liked Lew and what he brought to Make the Grade.  Not the best comedian, he made the show watchable (I still stopped by it when it was on Nick Games and Sports).  There's just something about the phrase "Reduce your fractions" that will always make me think of Lew.  Pretty good for a guy who went on to win Emmys for "Everybody Loves Raymond" (as part of a team).  And much better than Robb Edward Morris, IMO.

New Yorkers (and anyone online) can actually still hear MTG announcer Maria Milito on radio station Q104.3 from 9a-2p.

Carrington?  Better than Skip Lackey.
And while on the subject of kids game shows, I think I'd put Larry Toffler on the list.  He also seemed to do well with what was given him.
I think Ross Schafer was a great host for MG90. He didn't host any other GS's, did he?
He did twice host a game show "spoof" on an episode of BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY dealing with "Earth's Seasons" in 1993, and later in a ten-second spoof of LOVE CONNECTION on the same program in an episode about "Flowers". (or was it "Insects"?)

SHAFER IN LC SPOOF TALKING TO A LADY IN A BEE COSTUME: "You've been one busy little b...!".  The spoof hilariously ended there. ;)

Seeing how Shafer and Nye are Seattle institutions (or should be put in them) sorta makes sense he would do that.

Well, he did, sort of - he had a semi-regular role on Fame when it was on NBC.

If we're going that route, we could point to Kevin O'Connell's tenure as a weathercaster, grabbing him national guest spots on The CBS Morning News and the weekend Today show. I'm not sure what else if anything Vicki Lawrence has done.

She had her own talk show.  Lasted for either two or three seasons, IIRC.

I can't possibly give a Northwestern guy a "WHOOSH," can I?  ;-P

(Of course, this coming from a guy who gets more air WHOOSHES than anyone.)
