Major GSN Schedule News

I'll start with the most exciting.  Super Millionaire is going to GSN starting April 30th, Sunday Nights, at 8PM EST.  Not only that, Russian Roulette, much to my glee, is returning to the air on Sundays at 6-7PM EST.  Millionaire replaces Win Ben Stein's Money on Saturdays at 5-6PM EST.  Greed, despite being rerun way too much, gets a 5-a-week showing in Weakest Link's 7PM slot.  Lingo now replaces Greed with 2 episodes Sundays at 10-11PM EST.  Poker Royale 3 also starts May 6 and 9PM EST.

This is all from Beverly, so take it with a grain of salt.  I'll verify with GSN when I get home, but my lord do I hope this is true.  They are really stacking up Sunday nights with their top rated shows, aren't they?  I always had a feeling they would get Super Millionaire too.  Now to see how true my theory that they will make their own version of Dog Eat Dog is.  Anyay, again, I'll verify when I get home from school today.

If this is true, good news on "Super Millionaire", but one wonders why they wouldn't pick up more of the original Regis version - they only have about 200 episodes of that, don't they?

There are even fewer Super MIllionaire shows than there were of Greed or Povich 21. They'll tire out quickly even at once a week showings. I agree they should have gone for the rest of Regis run(January 2001-June 2002, save for the celeb shows, as well as August 1999)

The only thing I consider major about this schedule change happens Sunday night.  Everything else is bleh...  showing more of the exact same shows.   Well I guess Poker Royale 3 is major to some people.

Is there any way you can get ratings for the past couple of Saturday night classics?  It would be interesting to see if they are pulling their weight for the station.  If so, it might stick around for a while.  If not, it might get the axe pretty soon with crap like WL replacing it....

I'm thinking (hoping) that they'll just run through SM once or twice on Sunday nights and then add the episodes to the regular Millionaire rerun cycle.

Also, I'm kind of glad WL is getting cut back, but then again, Greed is perhaps even more rerun-abused.

Given that Steve wasn't wrong about the last round of schedule changes at GSN, I don't think any of us would have reason to doubt him this time around.

Wait until next Friday when the real schedules come out. ;)

Huell Howser's best show, IMO.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

I would love that considering the episode I am a contestant on (9/9/2001) is part of that unaired package. More importantly, Kevin Olmstead, Ed Toutant (return to win) and Bernie Cullen's shows are also part of that package.

Good news on Super Millionaire, it was a great series. I am just not sure on how many times they plan on running that sucker into the ground.

Tim :-)
