According to that story, FOX has already shot six of these little babies.

Also, the ironic line of the week has to go to this FOX spokesman:

"The special was thoroughly vetted by our standards and practices department to ensure that it was appropriate for broadcast"

Oh, yeah, we here at FOX think it's just swell!
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

So the game isn't rigged and no one says "hell" or "damn". But ya gotta love the concept.

The same station that's passed before on Fox reality shows dealing with sexual situations, including both installments of "Temptation Island" and "Married by America."  WRAZ's sister station WRAL (both owned by a local concern) also turned down Simon Cowell and Fremantle's "Cupid" from CBS when it aired summer before last--replacing it with "Andy Griffith" reruns.  There's a pattern here.

And no wardrobe malfunctions. I don't see a thing wrong with this show.
Oh, yes. I know. I was raised by civilized beings.

For the record, the special finished a distant fourth in the ratings last night, so except as a punch line,  I think we've all but heard the last about it.

And I actually taped the piece of garbage--the only really interesting thing, other as a marking place in the decline of Finola Hughes' career, is that there were not a lot of paid commercials on the show.  A lot more Fox promos than usual (and the local breaks in Chicago were nothing but WFLD news promos--not one "Home of Comedy" promo for the reruns).  They couldn't even scare up direct-response spots to replace the paid ads.  Also, they ran a PSA promoting adoption in the credits instead of the usual promo.

Mike Darnell better get his resume updated--"Idol"'s not going to save him this time, no matter how it does.

Funny for those who get it.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Obgameshows: Galpin Motors gets a mention in the credits of a few 80s game shows, presumably as a provider of cars.

Tom Daschle was never an executive in the TV bidness.

David Letterman had a mock promo for Who's Your Daddy on his Monday program - it ended with the tagline "Fox - we're all going to Hell".

I think that summed it up nicely.

Who'd make a better used car salesman: a sleazy TV programmer or an ex-Congressman?
