[quote name=\'Craig Karlberg\' date=\'Oct 29 2004, 02:14 AM\']I often have game show dreams too.  My favoritte one was where I was a contestant on Regis' WWTBAM?.  In that one, I answered the $125K question right, then I woke up & went back to sleep & it picked right up to where I left off at $250K, then got that one right too.  Woke up again & went back to sleep, you guessed it, I was going for a half-million dollars.  But the dream got messed up when it transitioned into something else.  I tried but couldn't get the $1M question part of my dream.  Man, game show dreams can cause some wild reactions.

Do you, by any chance, remember what the questions were?

I had a dream I was watching WWTBAM. This lady was going for the million. The MDQ was something along the lines of "In the first draft of the Declaration of Independence, what phrase appears in place of 'When in the course of human events...'?"

I know it's a total nonsense question. Incidentally, the woman was leaning heavily toward B, but decided to walk with $500K, and sure enough, B was the right answer.

Nope.  It's been so long since that dream, I have no recollections of the queations.  But I do know that one of them had something to do with mathematics which is right up my alley.

Speaking of MG-related dreams, back around 1978-79, I once dreamt that I saw a promo for yet another version of the show, like MGPM, it was syndicated, but this incarnation was aimed at teenagers, and was called "Match Game Teen". This dream version was shown on Pittsburgh's NBC affiliate, while in real life the CBS station ran the CBS daytime version and the ABC outlet showed MGPM on Fridays. Do you think teens could relate to Brett Somers?

I don't remember having a dream where I was on a game show, but I've had at least two where I saw shows being taped.  In one of them, two players made it into Final Jeopardy, and the one who trailed forced the leader to miss it--at gunpoint.  In the other, all I saw was Jack Tripper (John Ritter's character on Three's Company) on TJW pulling the lever in the bonus round.
Protecting idiots from themselves just leads to more idiots.

Two "Millionaire" ones:

My own worst nightmare
Earlier this week, in my dream, I made it to the show, and was ready to play.  For some reason, they're only taping "Celebrity Scoop" shows, and I'm on deck, even though I qualified for the normal game.  Kicking and screaming, I'm led to the chair, and have to play:

$100: Easy enough, got it right.
$200: Had to ATA, went with the massive majority, right
$300: Had to PAF, he laughed at me and gave me the right answer with :01 to go.
$500: No clue, used 50:50, guessed correctly.
$1,000: Thought I knew it, guessed, but I was wrong.  D'oh.

Wacky Nonense Dream
The other one I had was back when Millionaire was in primetime.  I made it to the chair, but had a special "speed-up" money tree, looking something... like this.

$500,000
$32,000
$16,000
$8,000
$4,000
$2,000
$1,000
$500

And wouldn't you know it, I woke up just before the $500k question was revealed.
(EDIT: My bad.  I was the last contestant of the two-week run, hence the speed-up money tree.  Time ran out just before the final question.  So they gave me the $32k, and told me to beat it.  Not bad.)

I'm so happy to see this thread here because I thought I was the only one who had GS dreams. I feel reasonably normal now.

I had one just a few weeks ago about an old skating rink I used to frequent in elementary school which had a GREAT arcade game room. I went in there as my adult self and saw a "Hit Man" game that was so elaborate (as things you see in dreams go) that I still can't shake it. It was housed in a little makeshift room (Think "Discs of Tron") and had a set of headphones and joystick. Put in a quarter and watch the Round One movie, and then the entire screen spun around to reveal the "race" portion of the game. For Round two, after the movie, the screen spun around and displayed a starfield, and the surrounding boarders lit up all the Hit Men for the round (and they even did that "flash and vanish" thing when you gave correct answers).

Looking back at all the dreams I've had about game shows over the years, I'd have to call this one the least flu-induced.

I had two weird dreams:

The first one was off of "The Joker's Wild", and that someone (it was a girl) spin three jokers in the bonus round. According to my [dream's] rules, whenever three jokers are spun in the bonus round, he or she wins a cash jackpot (a la TJW 90). well, she spun three jokers on the second try, wins $130,000 cash, jumps up in excitment, punches me clear across the face, runs around the entire studio (last I recall it was Sony Pictures...it may be studio 33), and leaves me there looking dumbfounded and stunned.

The second one was from hosting "Card Sharks", where I had an electronic backdrop of the gameboard (which could display 1.3 million colors of light), and the thing malfunctions, leaving the screen on different displays:

* The Cubs game (they were playing the yankees, or boston. can't remember)
* porn (don't know how that got in there)
* that pop-up screen that tells you that you've made an error on the computer.

I couldn't do much of anything but try to call high-low.

I had a weird dream the other day.  I was on a behind the scenes tour of price, and was watching all the games being wheeled in and out.  Most of them looked really  in disrepare up close and I remember talking to someone saying that they where aell going to get an  overhaul.  Then I remember turning around to watch a backstage monitor that was positioned on top of the Plinko game..., only to look behind me and find that everyone had stopped what they where doing and was watching with me.

Really weird :).

I guess I'd better chime in with mine.  This was before the possibility of 1.3 million colors of light, but I dreamed "The Big Showdown" was back, but this time hosted by WLS Chicago anchorman Fahey Flynn, whom I had seen exactly one time in my life when he anchored the post-primetime Saturday night ABC Weekend News in 1975.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

One time I had this dream that the WOF wheel had spaces on the wheel of $447, $493, and $660.  Probably a good way to avoid tie games.

In younger years I thought there was a 67 on the Showcase Showdown wheel in place of the 65.

Edit: Considering that landing on 67 makes it impossible for that player to total $1.00, I think I may be giving Fremantle ideas. :-\

Ah, yes. I remember a $6,000 space alongside a $7,000 space and a $9,000 space in one dream. How's that for Mo' Money Syndrome?

Dreaming about game shows is fine as long as you wake up dry. :)

Better hope you don't dream about Treasure Isle. :-D
