Three in one day!
« on: May 15, 2026, 03:31:35 PM »
I realized the other day that Syndicated J!, Celebrity J! All-Stars, and Pop Culture J! all aired first run episodes all on the same day.  Did this happen before, or even more episodes in that manner, not including repeats, like on GSN.  I imagine it happened before with Family Feud (ABC Daytime, Syndicated episode, and ABC PrimeTime special)?

LMAD in the early-70s? Not sure whether there was an overlap with the ABC versions in daytime and nighttime, then syndication. Something tells me the primetime run directly led to the syndicated version.

For about six weeks in 1986, on Thursdays you would've had daytime Price, the primetime specials, plus the Tom Kennedy version. Although I'm guessing two of those three were technically summer reruns.

According to the EOTVGS, the ABC primetime LMAD ended on August 30, 1971.  The syndicated version started September 13, 1971, so there was no overlap.

Depending on the market and the timing…

For a VERY brief period in August 1986 (on Thursdays, anyway), you could catch The Price is Right three times in one day.

The standard daytime version
The syndicated version with Tom Kennedy
The CBS Primetime Specials

Again, it was very market dependent, and if said markets hadn’t already shunted the syndie shows to late night by that point.

Apologies for the qualifiers, but that was one of the better examples I could think of.
