Buzzr is having a really rough time with the Season 17 Price episodes - at least three this week have been joined in progress, including the episode with Bob's turntable entrance, which started after said entrance occurred. Fortunately, that entire segment was uploaded to YouTube, but still...

Not sure what is going on over there, but it is very frustrating that so many preventable errors keep happening.

Every episode but the premiere has had the exact same timing error. Joined one minute in progress, segment ends, next segment begins, break starts a minute in. Segment 1 has had an invalid start-of-message/end-of-message (in time and out time) on every ep but one (but the duration's right).

However their program and segmenting metadata is being sent/fed to their master control vendeor (it's not internal lmao) it's clearly off or off spec.

That's not even counting that when they ran these episodes through their slop machine 'upscaler' the output was set to 16:10.

Or running the same Child's Play episode three times (and allegedly one feed didn't get one segment of the premiere).

At one point the toggle to their bug was set incorrectly so instead of animating on/off at the start of each segment, it was off/on. No bug for nearly entire shows. (Which *I* love, but is incorrect)

Or the dozens of 'new to Buzzr' shows that clearly very are not. (Marketing nonsense or bad record-keeping, who knows?)

Over on the Carey TPiR feed, they cut from the showcase bids directly to the Fremantle closing logo, then the next show. Who won the showcases on the 7500th show? Yes I can look that up, but if you were watching, who knows? (Hey, not like 7500 is an important milestone show)

Nevermind that for most of these shows they haven't really bothered to digitize and broadcast anything new in an entire year.

It's doubly frustrating for me, both as someone who has spent years in professional master control including for some of the largest cable networks in TV (even though I see myself as a director first) - who at the same time on the hobby side has spent years building out my own large personal library, logging episodes, *and* running them through manual clean-ups.

It's incredibly difficult to watch material I care about treated with utter indifference and with boundless avoidable errors by both Fremantle and their master control vendor, knowing good and well I can and have done the job better than this even with a concussion and staples in my head, nevermind day to day.

I know I'm the one that usually tries to lead with gratitude, but professionally this is absolutely abysmal.

Not to drag this too far off topic, but their website could use a good QA check too.

Examples of BUZZR's sloppiness...
Number One:  "Blockbusters", not "Blockbuster".
Number Two:  PYL has a wheel?  Amusingly, they did take time to mention that Rod Roddy was "primarily" the announcer.
Number Three:  A "Goddson-Todman" show.

Not that it needs one, but there's notably no page for TPiR.

I get these jobs probably don't pay much, but I think it's a bad look when your on-air and online product has preventable errors.

Today's TPIR on Buzzr was a disaster. It started at the beginning of the show, but the break timings were all wrong and the show cut off as Bob was about to introduce the first showcase.

Buzzr is just an embarrassment. On Friday, during the fresh shows, they had them running in a different aspect ratio than their commercials. On my cable feed, the commercials were at the correct aspect ratio (4:3) while the shows were stretched, 16:9 in an overall 4:3 feed. It's so amateurish.

The timing is off on today's fresh Supermarket Sweep shows. The last three episodes ended in the middle of post-Big Sweep shenanigans, never making it to credits and going right to the next episode.

One thing that caught my attention is the consolation prize/promotions on certain shows.  The first few Password Plus episodes (from the premiere week) gave as one of them the two-volume World Book dictionary, which was regularly promoted on original Password series.  If not as their source, definitely for Dr. Reason A. Goodwin (their authority) being an editor of the publication.

Today, a few episodes from final few months of P+, promoted gift certificates for Toys R Us stores, which is sadly no longer in business.  And among other products promoted, Mr. Microphone, from Ronco!  Anyone remember the man in charge, Ron Popiel?

I am happy they are putting this episode of beat the clock but they chose the wackiest places to put the commercial breaks. they put it in the middle of a vintage commercial and once in the middle of a challenge. I am watching this through DVR but this must have been a pain for people who were not. I understood it would have to be more commercials then what is originally scheduled because of the difference of commercial time now but they have done a better job with the vintage Price Is Right
(back when they aired the 60s version) so I know they can do better.

In the 1:30 PM Eastern half hour, BUZZR is airing an original top 10 moments special instead of Trivia Trap.  There are some moments which haven't made the rounds on previous specials, like a Family Feud contestant who needed a minimal number of points (under 10) and barely gets there.

At least for tonight, the 8PM ET CS is not from 1987, but a 1980 Perry (ep 543, OAD 5/29/80--two days after the last Perry show they ran in the 8PM hour).  (I didn't check 8:30.)

They ran 542 in that slot the night before. The 8:30 show was Eubanks that night.

Isn't their master control automated?

Chelsea said it's outsourced, and I wouldn't be surprised if they run out of Encompass in Atlanta. Couple jobs ago, we used them and they were pretty terrible. When we switched to Comcast's CTS division in Colorado, we actually had it in our contract with them to make them count us in and out of live segments because Encompass got to a point where it hardly ever did.

Sounds like traffic may have to get involved with this too because whoever's doing their logs is apparently not doing them very well. If they have operators, they're not doing much of a job either looking things over like they should.

You're right that it's Encompass, but it's their Burbank facility.
