Buzzr's National Game Show Day (Month) 2026
« on: May 05, 2026, 08:25:00 PM »
So, I'm watching a Price rerun on Buzzr this afternoon and they played a promo reminding us that National Game Show Day is upon us once again. Not only are they promising over 300 fresh-to-the network episodes this June, but they showed quick clips of Child's Play, Trebek's Double Dare, and Talk About interspersed in this 30 second montage of hosts, winners, and random moments. Schedule changes on the horizon, perhaps?

I didn't record it, but I know this group, it'll show up on YouTube soon enough.

I hope some "monochrome" shows are among the mix. There's plenty of original Beat The Clock and Password that never saw the light of day since they were on GSN.

UPDATE: What did I tell you? I’d also like to make a correction, they’re promising over 400 new-to-Buzzr episodes this June.

So is Buzzr airing fresh episodes of the majority of their shows only 1 month a year now?

I hope they figure out their correct aspect ratio in time for June. Buzzr has been in stretched fake widescreen for the past week on my cable system.

While something may have changed since I last dealt with this, I think the aspect ratio is a carrier choice, not a Buzzr one.

My local Buzzr subchannel has the exact opposite problem; they're taking the 16:9 feed, and forcing it into 4:3, which results in everything looking too skinny.

I've had both problems.  Recently, it's been the 4:3 feed stretched into 16:9.  Either problem can be fixed (for me at least) by changing the allowable video formats to your TV.  Now I tell it 480i is my preferred format, and the aspect ratio is right.  For legitimate HD channels, it still (automatically) uses 1080i, as 480 is incompatible.

Back when I had the 16:9 feed stretched into 4:3, I told it my preferred format was 1080i, and that had the reverse effect, also making it right.

Interestingly, the Buzzr logo looks like the right aspect ratio when the 4:3 is stretched into the 16:9 format...at least to me.  I wonder if this is their new desired broadcast ratio, which is odd considering it's a 4:3 digital sub-channel.  Unless they're thinking of changing that.

With Celebrity Name Game and Carey Price Is Right on the schedule (not to mention all the commercials being 16:9), I can see why they'd want 16:9 to be the default.

Even as a digital subchannel, Buzzr broadcasts at 16:9 in my market.

Thanks to the responses, I was able to fix the aspect ratio for Buzzr by adjusting the picture size on my smart TV to 4:3. Now it's perfect, no longer stretched.

It looks like Buzzr will be airing fresh episodes of various shows through June each day from 8:30am-2pm. Are there any other shows that will be fresh, like Barker Price later in the day, or are they just confining the freshness to that time slot?

I read in another group that Buzzr was bringing back Garry Moore episodes of Secret and Truth.  I expect this to be short term, and I'm not holding out hope for "new" episodes after all this time, but does anyone here have more details?

Not a big TTTT guy Matt, but happy to help. Looks to be on June 15th-17th between 8-930 AM PT in the 74-75 season, with Anita Gillette, Bill Cullen, Kitty Carlisle, and Larry Blyden for the first five, followed with Peggy Cass and Nipsey Russell the following week. THE IGAS episodes precede them, but seem to be more scattered in their timeline.

ETA: The IGAS episodes seem to be the first few episodes.

The TTTTs are 1975 shows that are new-to-Buzzr and may not have aired on GSN either. The IGAS are shows from 1961 and 1962 that they've aired before.

The "new-to-Buzzr" episodes begin Monday and run each day in June from 8:30 AM to 2PM ET. There also will be season 17 TPIR's sprinkled about in the afternoon.

'Sprinkled in' isn't quite the most accurate. Starting June 1st, they're doubling back to the start of season 17 and running the several weeks they previously skipped. Monday-Friday are new shows in sequence, while Sat/Sun are reruns of previous shows.
