Hasn't Million Dollar Mind Game been on Russian TV for awhile?

Yes, but I think you may be misunderstanding OP.  MDMG wasn't created here.  It was adapted from the Russian show, so it wouldn't qualify.

Correct. My bad for not reading correctly.

Chain Letters didn't make it beyond the pilot here, here but was a 10-year success in the UK.

A few TPiR pricing games that were short-lived in the US became popular when introduced abroad. Shower Game was apparently played quite frequently on the French version, and the Aussie versions' Showcase round was based on Double Bullseye.

To be fair, I think they also reworked the rules so it played out a bit more like Joker -- I don't believe the showers had any prices on them.

Which is good, because while that's not how I personally would rework Shower Game, its actual format doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Now that the Shower Game has been brought up, the premise using the shower stalls to find the winning key, would have been a great idea for Nickelodeon Double Dare's course.  Have 3 stalls -- one stall drops a bit of slime, the other drops some plain water and the third drops a dry substance along with the flag.

I believe they actually did have an obstacle similar to that, except all 3 showers had different-colored liquids and the contestants stepped on foot pedals to activate them.

A fun obstacle that nobody seemed to do very quickly! When every contestant hit the sensor with their foot, they just stood and looked up to see if the flag came out with the liquid. I would've wasted no time in quickly touching all three and just wait for Marc to yell, "there it is!" Reminds me of Double Click on DD2K. That obstacle would have been more bearable if they just ran across all the keys instead of jumping on random ones waiting for "You've got flag!" to sound.

Completely forgot that the Soda Jerk stunt their version of The Shower game, more or less, until it was mentioned.

Not exactly "bombed" but Chain Reaction in Italy is an absolute television staple, approaching its 20th season.

About TPIR pricing games, the producer in Italy had to be in love with Safe Crackers because it was regularly played for a car or other big prizes (though numbers CAN repeat, making it harder to win).

“Child’s Play” is another that has been drastically more successful in overseas markets, especially Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands, than the 52-week original would lead one to think.
Child's Play was also the first game show to hit Russia post-Soviet Union, which was in 1994.

Whew!, Hit Man, and/or Blackout would've done very well overseas; why Jay Wolpert never thought about exporting them, we'll never know

Both Hit Man and Blackout were done in the UK.

And apparently both lasted about as long as the U.S. versions.

Hit Man also made it to Italy, with a slightly longer run, a little under a year.

Hit Man wasn’t a bad show, per se, but instant recall can only get you so far. It doesn’t surprise me that it didn’t last.

Blackout’s problem is that the game just takes too long as it’s set up. Is there really a need for the puzzles? Couldn’t they just have stuck with blanking out parts of the speech and made it a race to a set amount of words, or maybe used the Password Plus mechanic like they tried to with the bonus game?

(And is it just me or did the know-it-all not know something?)
