Per the J! FB page:

GOOOAALLLLL! You officially heard it here first! Joe Buck is hosting a brand-new Jeopardy! series: "ESPN Jeopardy!". Coming soon to Disney+ and Hulu.

The bad news for some,...Joe Buck is hosting...

The worse news:  No civilian contestants.

Hearing that it wouldn't be civilians, but instead ESPN personalities sounds fun. However, I'd like it better if it were ESPN personalities 25 years ago. I don't want to be one of those "ESPN used to mean something back then" people (though I do believe it was different and nostalgic), but it seems like they've lost a lot of the memorable personalities to layoffs and the march of time.

Imagining a match between Stuart Scott, Kenny Mayne and Robin Roberts makes me wistful.
Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.

That and their idea of "personalities" is people arguing manufactured lukewarm takes for three hours. Not trying to hear Stephen A. Smith turn "What is The Yellow Rose of Texas?" into a rant about the Cowboys.

ESPN has fallen a long way since the days of Casey McCall and Dan Rydell.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

100% agreed. And absolutely correct, some of the old SC anchors would make this .....must see TV.

I'd pay good money to watch Kilborn do it.

A couple years ago you could've done a whole tournament just with Around The Horn contributors.
This signature is currently under construction.

How many spin-offs does Jeopardy! need?

I thought Joe Buck did a decent job guest hosting.

I don't think Joe Buck did horribly, but I remember his delivery being way too slow and deliberate for anything more than a guest stint.

I remember thinking he was one of the most polished, maybe a little too polished. But like Anderson Cooper, I had a feeling it wasn't gonna be more any more than a guest stint.

I'm indifferent on yet another J! spinoff, but I'd much rather see civilians play the Sports edition from the mid-2010s.

We have taping dates in early May, which is much sooner than I was expecting:
