MARYLAND TV STATION REPELS ANGRY MOB
SALISBURY, MD (AP) — A local television station in the quiet community of Salisbury learned today that the real March Madness was waiting for them outside their studios. A group of angry citizens surrounded WBOC-TV after the station preempted the game show "Let's Make a Deal" in favor of a local interest show titled "DelmarvaLife." Reports say crowds totaled in the "ones and tens." Station management was shocked to learn that that people still had an interest in over the air broadcasting.
The local SWAT team was called to dispel crowds, but they ignored calls because they "had something else better to do." Wicomico County Animal Control quelled the uprising instead. The ordeal was not without incident. One member of the unruly mob had their DelmarvaLife cut tragically short after they fell into a puddle and drowned. "Why the hell didn't he just get up? The puddle was only a few inches deep!" said Animal Control specialist George M. Stecknadelkopf.
This is not the first time a game show preemption has caused chaos. Last year Cleveland station WOIO temporarily rescheduled "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune" in favor of a Cleveland Browns preseason game. Zealots formed a blockade against the CBS affiliate and refused to leave until the station agreed to never air Browns games ever again. There are also reports that irate fans of the show "Person, Place or Thing" are responsible the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz.
