eBay finds: Hit Man subject slides and scripts
« on: March 15, 2026, 12:35:45 PM »
If you have $80 lying around, you can get slides and the script from one of 18 different subjects on Hit Man.  From what I can tell, only two topics are from shows readily available online--W.C. Fields and Henry VIII's Wives.

Link to W.C. Fields slides/scripts.  Others can be found by looking at this seller's items or by searching for wolpert in the category of Entertainment Memorabilia.

The "American Symbols" story has one Marc Summers as a writer... has any one ever asked him about working on this show?
Just makes you realize how much work went to just producing those segments for that show, beyond everything else. Surprising to see that they didn't simply record it on videotape, too.

Damn, they're going fast.  Only 7 of 18 left.  Glad I got one (Cats--Love 'Em or Hate ''Em) when I did.

To answer Tyshaun's question, I believe someone in the fan base confirmed years ago that that Marc Summers wrote for Hit Man.

From what I gather from the descriptions in the individual sets, these slides/scripts were not all necessarily approved or used on the show (though we can confirm some of these subjects were seen on the show), correct?

The seller’s latest batch of listings has a lot more stories from the episodes that are in circulation among us. Mark(c) Summers was the writer for Vice Presidents, the final story of the series.

I’m noticing a ton of “Yes Jay” and “No Jay” markups. Maybe an indicator of approved/rejected?

It’s cool to see the question count for each story. The benchmark seemed to be 30-35 questions per topic. (IIRC, I did around 30 for when I hosted some games in Palace).

BTW: among the recently sold is an edited master for Whew!

I think you're mostly right, although "Vice Presidents" is marked as a "No Jay". From what I understand, the last story on the series finale was supposed to be "7 Wonders of the World", but it had technical issues during taping so they replaced it with said story.

Possible. He had done warm-up on Jokers Wild and then announced on Hot Streak.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

Marc has talked about doing Hit Man before. He also wrote on Celebrity Sweepstakes.

Makes sense. R1 needs at least 14 questions (plus a few spares to account for deadballs). R2 needs at least 13. Then in the bonus round there are 24 circles on the board to account for, and you can't just assume the timer will catch you before you get through all of them. If you split those evenly between each subject, that means no less than 25-26 questions are needed for each one. Certainly doesn't seem like there's that much info stuffed into each film but I imagine they were creative getting some facts in there without it being too obvious.

I got my first of two purchases today, oddly the one which I bought on Tuesday (Nielsen ratings) and not the one I got last Sunday (Cats).

Wow.  I am impressed.  Now I need to find my video editor software, as I want to recreate these segments as much as possible.

For all that purchased, you will be happy.
