Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

But not Kathleen?

Does anybody recognize the voice at 0:31?  Also, who is that at 1:19?  It sounds a lot like Chris Mann to me, and weren't he and Hallstrom working on a tell-all book about Barker a decade ago?

The one woman's story I want to hear at this point is Janice Pennington's since she's the only one who was dismissed thanks to Barker but hasn't uttered a bad word about him.

Kathleen is there at 1:38. In Kathleen's book, she mentions that Janice had a hush clause in her severance package not to speak negatively about Barker. Kathleen was not bound by the same terms. Holly didn't have an NDA or hush clause in her settlement which is why she was able to speak freely.

Would like to see Dian be a part of this, but I don't see it happening.

Yes, but you didn't say she looks great.

In Kathleen's book, she mentions that Janice had a hush clause in her severance package not to speak negatively about Barker.

If that was true, it surprised me greatly she had only nice things to say about Barker in that appearance on ET after his death, by when any such agreement would have been null.

Would like to see Dian be a part of this, but I don't see it happening.

Hers is also the other side of the story that's really missing (not that we'll ever get any straight truth on just how awful Barker was towards any model who ever worked on the show).

Claudia's participation has me curious, though, because as far as I can remember, she did not leave due to any issues with Barker.  Her complaint was against Phil Wayne, who was quietly dismissed after "allegations" were made.

Thank you, sir.

You have an...interesting grasp of the law.  Not correct, mind you, but interesting.

Correct. This show was not titled "Dirty Rotten Scandal" when I was asked to participate (it was billed to me as Untitled Price Is Right Documentary). I realize it's their property and they can do what they want with their stuff, but I'm feeling slightly burnt.

Kathleen does look great, but it was more Claudia and especially Holly who hasn't been seen in 20+ years.

I'm no lawyer, but I believe while hush clauses vs NDA's may be different, they may also be valid even if a party to the agreement passes away. Or maybe Janice just wanted to take the high road.

Off of 20 year memories, I believe Claudia had brought issues to Barker's attention but did nothing about it. I have no doubt what she says will be credible.

I guess it’s not much different than a newspaper using an incendiary headline for a story they pose to interviewees as a throwaway, but I’m sorry they misrepresented themselves, cause that feels icky.

I know others have posted about this online, so I figured I might post my thoughts as well: I was born in 1984(December, specifically), and i've grown up watching the show like many others...

I've never been in the business(with the exception of a year and a half in a local technical college's Broadcast Production Technology program, around 2004-2005); I like watching the Bob Barker episodes, even the Tom Kennedy, Dennis James and Doug Davidson versions, and on occasion I watch Drew's current version.

I will echo what others out there have said, in that I hope that Buzzr never drops the show's reruns, or that the Barker Era channel never goes away... yes, there were some things behind the scenes that were rather tawdry(which is/was the case with many shows of the era); however, I want to think about the show as it was/is: a half hour or hour(depending on the era/version) where ordinary people win cash, prizes, cars, trips, etc.

I don't want the PC police or Cancel Culture to cause the show's reruns to go away... if one does not want to watch the reruns, they don't have to, as is the case with every show/movie/event that exists... I want to make my own choices in entertainment, not have some one person, or group of people decide what I should watch/listen to/read...

We really didn't learn anything new. This was all the same stuff that's been rehashed a dozen times since the 90s and 2000s. Yeah, TPiR was a good ol' boys club, yeah, Bob had a consensual relationship with one of the models, and the other models wouldn't lie for him when he got burned.

I think the only thing here that I didn't know was Dian has all but disappeared.
Cheers,

I've known Barbara Hunter for many years. She looks OLD.

They didn't interview two people who really knew what was going on: Paul Alter and Syd Vinnedge. Problem is, Syd won't say anything on the record that's unfavorable to Barker. Paul Alter is deceased and lost his job for depo'ing against Barker. Phil Wayne is likewise deceased.

I sometimes wonder why Barker was never brought up on charges of suborning perjury. Mr. Brown? Note that at trial, Barker never took the witness stand. If he had done so, might he have lied under oath to protect his image?

Who is the guy with the horn-rimmed glasses?

Janice reportedly said she would write her tell-all when barker was in the grave.

Yeah, but the aggrieved party (Barker) is dead, so who would bring the case?

Perhaps Barker's estate (or executor)?
