Am I correct in saying that Buzzr hasn't done much (if anything) for the month of February to celebrate specific annual events -- namely Valentine's Day and Black History Month?    ISTR Buzzr had aired specific episodes that coincided with those events in the past -- even if they were more or less the same episodes each year that they did it in the past.

Instead, the Buzzr folk are only promoting the heck out of HD Barker and Carey episodes of TPIR and Brady LMAD.

Thank you drafting such a thoughtful post that proves we can talk about these channels without a chorus of "you should be grateful anyone is running those old dusty game shows!"

I remember wayyyyy back in the very early days of streaming video, folks would ask if people would ever upload game shows to YouTube. And I absolutely scoffed at the idea as being so niche as to be laughable.

Boy howdy did that take age poorly. :)

There's no interest in presenting the older stuff to newer fans
I forget when the project started, but I do remember Barker Era Price and non-Harvey Feuds being part of an interactive watch party service being offered to Twitch streamers (sort of a meld of WinTV and the GSN interactive games). Even though I thought it was a perfectly cromulent idea executed well, I assume that service didn't get enough traction.
This signature is currently under construction.

Gaggl? It's still a thing, and I've seen it extended to other Buzzr-aired shows. A friend of mine plays it on his channel and we've played along with Classic Concentration, PYL, Supermarket Sweep, and Newlywed Game. Outside of the Buzzrverse, I've also seen it with Baggage.

I couldn't tell you when it started either, except I know it's been in the last 18 months.

How deep into the Narz Concentration run did they get the first time they aired it?  This morning’s 5am episode had the later Double Play matching game and Price is Right prize music, copyright 1977.  I thought they ended the first time before they got that far.

Yes, this was a nice surprise. I recall some of these newer episodes airing previously, but I don't think they aired more than a handful of them before going back to the beginning of the batch.

They've aired just short of 200 shows total, starting with show #0971 and going up through show #1372, a couple of months into the 1977-78 production season.

Buzzr's mostly stuck to the same ~100 shows from 1976 for eons, the first part of 1977 less often, and these last ~40 shows from the next season the least often - so it's nice to see these last few dozen episodes turn up on the channel again, but they aren't new. It's just been a while.

They WILL air five new-to-Buzzr episodes on March 10th and 11th. Shows 1373 & 1381-1383 air on the 10th, while 1384 airs on the 11th before the loop resets back to 0971. These five shows did not air when Buzzr has previously run the few weeks of the 5th season they've transferred, and will bring the number to an even 200.

Have they actually reran the last few episodes of Concentration after their initial airing on Buzzr? Kept trying to see if a certain episode (#1324) would pop up on the schedule after its initial airing was butchered by commercial break timings and it never seemed to pop up until this week (early Tuesday morning, 4:30 AM ET/1:30 PT, 2nd show of the nightly 2 hour block).

It seems like Buzzr pulled the show off the schedule before they finished what had been digitized. This feels more like a burnoff than a fresh batch of new episodes, especially when it's airing in the wee hours of the night. Glad they're finally airing these; just wish it was at a more accessible time.

It just doesn't make sense to me why this is buried in the middle of the night, when long blocks of the 80s version are aired ad nauseum.

Just throwing this out there. I don't have access to Buzzr OTA, and cut cable a long time ago, so I put together a setup at home that pulls in a free stream of Buzzr into DVR software with a program guide, and allows me to record Buzzr on a spare Mac Mini. The main tool is Channels DVR, using the Buzzr stream that is available for free when you sign up for a free Sling TV Freestream account.

The only ongoing cost is $8/month for the Channels DVR software, which I gladly pay every month as it also connects to my home antenna and does a bunch of other fun stuff.

Concentration airing at 4am is not great, but I've set up a season pass to record every airing to watch later. Recordings are saved as uncompressed .mpg files to my home server. Easy peasy once it's set up. You just need a spare computer with a connection to the Internet, and that free Sling TV account.

Happy to make a quick walkthrough of this setup if the community would find it valuable.

There's also a discounted $80/year payment option, if people can swing that all at once. (I use Channels with an HDHomeRun tuner for my OTA viewing.)

It's also doable through NextPVR for the low low price of free.
