Buzzr Q1 2026
« on: January 03, 2026, 01:14:34 PM »
Might as well start a new topic for the new quarter and the new year.

Not only do we have new MG syndies (from the 1981-82 season) starting on January 12, but Buzzr as of New Year's Day also canned the Monty and Monty gimmick and is now showing BB (starting again with 100, which they did on their first day of existence) for 90 minutes, then two hours of CC (starting with ep 3).  I guess there are a few scattered Eubanks CS that are fresh to Buzzr that will be airing throughout the month too.  Other than that, I'm not aware of anything fresh on the horizon.

I take it the 5:00PM Price Is Right's with "gray-haired Bob" are no longer new to Buzzr?

It was 100 episodes starting on 9/29, so back of the napkin math says "not yet but soon"?
This signature is currently under construction.

Should last through roughly the end of January.

This new schedule has gotten...weak?  CC dominates the daytime lineup now (4 full hours) and What's My Line has disappeared from the 5AM hour, replaced by '76 Concentration.  Evenings are the same.

Hopefully something besides Baldwin Match Game or Carey Price.

Could be just the 70s Bob episodes repeating on the Barker channel.
Or maybe something as crazy as the Kennedy version?

I don't think Tom's TPIR is crazy at all, that was my first impulse.
Geoff also used the same mic on Treasure Hunt '81...now THAT would be crazy  ;D

Kennedy PiR would definitely be "a little twist". That's where I'd put my money down. It's been nearly 30 years since it was rerun.

I nearly put because of the G-T loss in '97, but I don't know where the contract for it laid.

The Kennedy run is absolutely my favorite version of the show, so really hoping it's that.

This is not necessarily the fandom I'd be doing cryptic riddles with given its tendency to overblow expectations and reason.

I nearly put because of the G-T loss in '97, but I don't know where the contract for it laid.

GSN's rights for it were bundled with the other Price versions. GSN had it through April 2000, same as the others, but only aired it until they got the (other) Goodson shows back in April 1998 (and by then only late Sunday night).

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

Ironically, "same skinny mic, just a little twist" is what Barker told the models too.

The only other thing I can think of that would qualify is if they were bringing over the early 70s half hour shows that have already run on the streaming channels. Hopefully it's not just that though.

What I'm expecting: Early Barker Price that's aired on streaming.

What I'm hoping for: Kennedy Price. Other Price would be acceptable, but Kennedy's feels like a natural fit.

What it could also be: March Game '98. It's the only version of Match Game the channel hasn't aired before and it feels weird to promote any other version when they've aired most of the other runs.

While that wouldn't be a bad Buzzr addition, Michael Burger didn't use a skinny mic on Match Game '98; he used a clip-on.

Would there be any hope for Dennis James' Price is Right - or are the fur bans still in place?
