Challengers question (if it hasn’t already been asked)
« on: February 19, 2024, 02:58:58 PM »
I have a feeling this might’ve been discussed before but the search wasn’t helpful, so if anyone might redirect me I’d appreciate it. But just in case:

I know I’ve seen scuttlebutt that The Challengers didn’t make it to one year of no reruns and some reported seeing reruns before it went off the air.

The latest first run episode I have seen is from July 5, 1991, so you know it at least went that deep. But how much longer did they go, if they didn’t air new episodes until September 1991?
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012

August 2, 1991 was the last show, followed by reruns until it went off the air.

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

Did they cut the intro out at the beginning or blur the screen behind Dick?

The reruns that they aired were a couple of tournaments that they had done during the series, and they had definitely shot these tournaments with reruns in mind--no date graphic, and very little "current" material in them.
