2023-24 time slots
« on: June 14, 2023, 12:03:46 PM »
It's that time of the year, when fall schedules are being released.

Cleveland/Akron:
There should be no changes between J!, Wheel, and the network offerings.

Everything else is on WBNX, in a *7* hour weekday block.

3 PM: Feud x 2
4 PM: Pictionary x 2
5 PM: 25 Words or Less x 2
6 PM: Person, Place, or Thing
6:30: People Puzzler
7 PM: Feud x 2
8 PM: Funny You Should Ask
8:30: People Puzzler
9 PM: Feud x 2

And another hour of Feud happens on Saturdays and Sundays at 7 PM.

No You Bet Your Life, though.

Norfolk/Virginia Beach didn’t do too much shuffling.

9:30 am
25 Words (hour)-WTVZ

10:00
LMAD-WTKR
Person, Place or Thing-WVBT

10:30
People Puzzler-WVBT
Feud (rerun)-WTVZ

11:00
TPiR-WTKR
Pictionary (hour)-WVBT

2:00 pm
Funny You Should Ask (hour)-WGNT

7:00
Wheel-WVEC
Feud (hour)

7:30
J!-WVEC

Unless WVBT moved it to overnights, YBYL is nowhere to be found. WSKY is the only station that didn’t have a TV Passport schedule - not counting the subchannels - so I’ll check one of the other sites tomorrow.

I don't fully trust what I see in TitanTV for the Harrisburg, PA market - on Monday 9/11, WPMT/Fox has several insertions of a DraftKings paid program in daytime - but I do see that the CW subchannel of WHP has slotted PPOT as a double-run in the 6pm hour, which is interesting.

Pictionary looks like it remains on WPMT in the 1pm hour, and 25 Words remains on WHP 21.2 at 5pm. Feud comprises a huge chunk of WPMT's schedule throughout the day also.

Did I not read somewhere that YBYL either didn't get renewed and/or Jay doesn't want to do more episodes (right now/ever) because of the WGA and/or SAG-AFTRA situations (as in he fully supports the unions)?

Now that you mention it, I’ve seen both so that makes sense. Watching last week they had a contestant announcement, but perhaps they just forgot to edit it or add a disclaimer.

Production suspended until at a minimum the WGA strike is over

Quote
Series host Jay Leno, who has been seen at multiple picket lines delivering donuts, supports the move.

“As a member of the Writers Guild for almost 40 years, I truly understand and stand in solidarity with my fellow union members,” Leno said in a statement. “For that reason, we are suspending production of our game show, You Bet Your Life until such time when an agreement can be reached. I’m sorry I ran out of glazed, I now realize powdered sugar is not the same thing. Yours truly, Jay Leno.”

WLS: Jeopardy at 3:30, Wheel at 6:30, this is how things are done properly, your city is wrong.

Here's Indianapolis, at least for the week of Sep. 11:

Funny You Should Ask: 5:00 AM and 4:30 PM on My-23
Let's Make a Deal: 10:00 AM on CBS-4
The Price is Right: 11:00 AM on CBS-4
People Puzzler: 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM on CW-8
25 Words Or Less: 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM on CW-8
Family Feud: 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM on CW-8   (3:00 likely remains the "new" ep window) and 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM on My-23
Pictionary: 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM on My-23
Wheel of Fortune: 7:00 PM on NBC-13
Jeopardy!: 7:30 PM on NBC-13
You Bet Your Life: 11:00 PM and 11:30 PM on 4.2 nope, it’s gone

I don't fully trust what I see for Philly either - WPVI still has Tamron Hall at 10am and Rachael Ray at 2pm on Monday the 11th - that day, a newscast will debut at 10am and Tamron moves to 2.

Seattle:

(Edited as TitanTV had inaccurate listings for a few stations but found the corrected ones easily)

Wheel: 7pm, KOMO (ABC) (9pm when ABC is live in the Pacific Time Zone, ie Monday Night Football)
Jeopardy: 730pm, KOMO (ABC) (930pm when ABC is live in PT)
Family Feud: 8pm & 830pm, KSTW11 (a CBS O&O that is dropping it's CW affiliation effective 9/1)
Person Place or Thing, 2pm & 2:30pm, KZJO (FOX13+ Ind. (former MyTV)
Pictionary: 2pm & 230pm, KCPQ/FOX 13 AND 3pm & 330pm, KZJO (FOX13+ Ind. (former MyTV)
25 Words or Less: 4pm & 430pm, KZJO (FOX13+ Ind. (former MyTV)
People Puzzler: 5pm & 530pm, KZJO (FOX13+ Ind. (former MyTV)
Who the Bleep is That: 11:30pm, KZJO (FOX13+ Ind. (former MyTV)
Funny You Should Ask: 8am, KSTW (Ind, formerly CW)
You Bet Your Life: Not airing as of now.

KIRO's only clearing the network content (Price/LMAD + any primetime series). Same for KING (NBC). (and nothing on KONG)

Because I'm also considering a move there for personal reasons, and because of something interesting as hell, here's Denver as well:

If you love Family Feud, Denver is your market, three runs on it's primary affiliate plus another SIX on it's secondary (Local 3/KCDO is run by KMGH/ABC); AFAIK there are six total "runs" offered to affiliates, so half of the eps are same-day reruns:

Family Feud, KMGH/ABC 7: 3PM/330p/1235am
Family Feud, Local 3 (KCDO): 7pm/730p/9p/930p/10p/1030p

This arrangement also benefit People Puzzler)
4pm& 430pm, Local 3 (KCDO) plus 105AM & 135AM on KMGH (ABC)

Jeopardy! 12PM & 6PM, FOX 31 (KDVR).

Wheel: 6:30PM, FOX 31 (KDVR)

The independent also runs:
Funny You Should Ask: 1130p & 12a, Local 3 (KCDO)
Person Place or Thing: 1230a & 1a, Local 3 (KCDO)
Who the Bleep is That?, 2a & 230a, Local 3 (KCDO)

Rounding out the field is 25 Words or Less and Pictionary, which can be seen in a pair of double runs on TV 20 (KTVD) from 5-7pm as well as 9am-11am.

Nothing but network series on CBS (KCNC) & NBC (KUSA)

Milwaukee:
Not only is PPoT taking over the YBYL set, it's taking over its time slot, too: 10:35PM on WITI (FOX 6).
Who the Bleep, somewhat surprisingly, gets a single run on WVTV (CW 18) at 12:00 PM. (We did get the test run on WITI here.)
There is now an additional run of Feud at 12:30 PM on WVTV, joining the 2:00 PM, 2:30 PM, 5:00 PM, 5:30 PM, 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM runs.
People Puzzler occupies the 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM slots on WVTV, which means that with the existing FYSA runs at 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM and 25WOL runs at 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM, there is now a 7-hour mega block of game shows on WVTV.

Also remaining the same:
Double run of Pictionary at 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM on WITI.
Jeopardy! at 6:00 PM on WDJT (CBS 58).
Wheel of Fortune at 6:30 PM on WDJT.

WMAR ABC
10-11am - People Puzzler
7:30pm - Pictionary (premiere preempted)
1:36am - Pictionary (rerun)
2:06am - Funny You Should Ask

WJZ CBS
10am - Let's Make A Deal
11am - The Price is Right

WBFF FOX
6:30pm - Family Feud (new)
7pm - Jeopardy!
7:30pm - Wheel of Fortune

WNUV CW
6-7pm - Person, Place or Thing (double run)
7-8pm - Family Feud (rerun)

WTUB MyTV
11am-12pm - 25 Words or Less (first episode new)

Like elsewhere, it looks like PPT is taking over YBYL's timeslots and will run two new episodes to start.

The Pictionary season premiere will be preempted by the Monday Night Football preshow. The guide doesn't show it taking the rerun slot's place, maybe I'll try to remember to record it to see if they do move it there. No clue if FYSA will be new episodes or continued reruns since it was yeeted to that overnight slot when Pictionary premiered.

I'm pleasantly surprised at People Puzzler getting a nice slot like that on the schedule. I hope it does well up against LMAD.
Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.

WABC is also doing that 10 AM newscast, with Tamron Hall moving into Rachael Ray’s spot at 2.

Looks like status quo for the regulars: LMAD and Price from 10-12 on WCBS, Jeopardy and Wheel from 7-8 on WABC, 25 Words or Less and Pictionary from 12:30-1:30 on WNYW, Feud double run at 7 and two hour rerun block from 10-midnight on WWOR, and Funny You Should Ask from 4-5 on WLNY.

Person, Place, or Thing joins WNYW’s lineup after Pictionary at 1:30, with Who the Bleep is That and People Puzzler airing at 5:30 and 6:00 on WWOR. Another Feud rerun precedes them at 5:00.

One non-game show note about New York is that, for the first time since WWOR had the show in its infancy, Judge Judy will no longer be airing at 4:00 PM as of Sept. 11. The rerun package on WCBS has moved to 3:00 PM, where Dr. Phil had been airing (wasn’t there supposed to be a rerun package? If so, WCBS isn’t carrying it). Hot Bench takes the 4:00 hour.
