My cable box shows the episode numbers. Without giving away outcomes, I can confirm they are definitely not airing them in taping order.

Today's episode (6/13/19) is listed as 1062, so they might have taped 65 episodes.

I think they are airing episodes with a returning champion consecutively, based on the first week.

Makes sense. It's like Millionaire, where you do need to air some of the eps in order but can move things around when there is a retired champion.
