Trying to recreate some sets....
What was the font NBC used for their clock on shows such as "Blockbusters" and "Sale of the Century"?

Thanks.

I assume you mean BB87.

Anyways, it looks a lot like SportsType to me.

They didn't use the same clock. Blockbusters (and I'm assuming you mean Cullen, by the time we got to Rafferty it used a Chyroned clock, I think) used a slanted 7-segment clock, and $otC (for the Speed Round, anyhow) used either a Chyroned one or a vertical 7-segment.

Now, if you WERE referring to the Chyroned clock on the Rafferty show, and it IS the same one used in the latter days of the $otC speed round ('cuz I don't remember), then I can't help you.

BB87 did use the sportstype clock, as per a screengrab I just pulled up on Caleb Nelson's site.
I've seen screengrabs from SOTC which show both the sportstype clock, as well as one with a regular Helvetica font [the one NBC seemed to ALWAYS use in the 80's]
.....and it goes like this!!!

I thought BB80-82 used an Eggcrate display for the clock, with the slanted seven-segment reserved for the winnings display.

Guess we'll have to watch Saturday to confirm.  :)

You are correct...BB80-82 did use the Eggcrate display for the Gold Run/Rush, and the slanted seven-segment for the customer's winnings...

And, IIRC, they at one point used an Impact-style font, to display when a contestant won either $2,500 or $5,000.

There have been at least three fonts mentioned in this thread... care to state which one?

Eggcrate + Sports Type = Game Show Display Field Guide

The "impact-style" font is actually more like Commander or Commando or something like that.  I forget what it's called exactly.
