LMAD pre-empted in Cincinnati today....(4/1)
« on: April 01, 2015, 10:41:31 AM »
Let's Make a Deal (with a cameo by Drew Carey) is pre-empted today in Cincinnati due to coverage of the funeral of firefighter Daryl Gordon. He died last week trying to save people from an apartment fire. I presume TPIR is going to be at least partially pre-empted, as well.

This is NOT an April Fool's prank.

Update: The funeral is still going on. TPIR is airing on CinCW (channel 12.2). I presume LMAD was moved there, as well.

That's a shame, because there would finally be just cause to permaban your ass if it were.

My condolences to the family of the firefighter, but Brian, why would you think anyone outside of Cincinnati would give two shiats if shows were pre-empted or moved?

Baby, if you've ever wondered
Wondered...if a game show is going to be prempted because real life sometimes takes precedence

Nope, doesn't roll off the tongue nearly as well.

I don't think he's ever thought about that--he thinks that he is doing the board at large a service. I see no evidence that he is going to take a different tack.

According to him, game shows are more important than anything else.

Last I checked, he can watch it online if he wants to.

Exactly why pre-emptions are no longer a big deal.

I sort of wonder if his Internet service has that kind of bandwidth.

How do you know? Have you interviewed him? Can you pull a quote of him saying this?

But you said "according to him," when in fact it is according to you, because you're the one who said it. I strongly doubt Brian Henke has implied anything in his long history at Game Show Forum.
