Also, on FF '94, the background color changed from blue to red during Fast Money.

Very late in "Blockbusters" run, the set went from a bright yellow backdrop to (in my estimation) a much cooler-looking blue backdrop. That's all I can think of for this topic, oddly.
With the advent of the 1991-96 set, the blue background for the first round turned to red for Double J!.
Well, that's happened from on the 1984-2002 sets.

1984-1991: Background changes from Blue to Red for Double Jeopardy!

1991-1996: Same thing, but the letters in the logo change from Red to Blue in Double Jeopardy!, and the backgrounds that feature the contestants' names change to red AFTER the break.

1996-2002: Same thing as above, but after the show ended, the background would change back to blue from red. You just have to look VERY closely, if you've got any of those shows on tape.

With the 96-02 set, they stopped doing the red background in Double Jeopardy! around 1997 or so.

Also, with the 1991-96 set, there was a set of about 5 spotlights that lit up during Final Jeopardy!, when the set was dimmed.

Man, I miss the 1991 set. :-P

I remember those spotlights. I loved them.

Why? Well, they did the show in Hollywood, so, it was only fair to have Search-Lights.

Didn't they start doing second-round BG color changes a few years into the run of (Summers') Double Dare?

Hmm. Wonder what I'm remembering, then? Reddish tones in one round and blueish in another, I thought . . . maybe I'm just getting confused by the team colors. Bleh.

As the group's foremost authority on Double Dare (or one of them anyway), I know the backdrop is blue on Marc's right (our left) and pink on his left (our right).  And it's been that way since the beginning, although somehow reversed on the original Family Double Dare.  So you are probably thinking of team colors.

Wasn't it more like a spectrum, where the left side of the stage was red, and the right side was blue, but they sort of "faded" to each other.
