Yes indeed. Gene announces one of the shows on the Password BCI collection. As for George Gray, I think he's a good fit for TPIR. The fact that he's a friend of Mike Richards probably helped too.

Whenever there's an overbid, there's a cutaway shot to George, who does some sort of exasperated take, whether shaking his fist, mouthing "Come ON!", et al. "Facepalm" covers all that.

I basically had the six announcers in two groups - the people I would prefer (David/Jeff/George) and the people I would not prefer (JD/Brad/Steve). Good pick.

To be fair, I saw Roberto host TPiR LIVE at Bally's in Las Vegas earlier this year, and I thought he did an excellent job. (David Ruprecht was the announcer, who was also very good.) So he has the chops, just maybe not as a sidekick.
