Why the hell would Julie Chen have a show on the Spice Channel, and why the hell would they cancel... Oh, As the World Turns.  Had a little dyslexia flare-up there.  Carry on.

Took me a while to get there.

Absolutely worth the journey, though. :)

Isn't Conan only doing 4 nights a week w/ the new show?  If so, should be no problem to tape around it.

IIRC, Conan's TBS show will be four nights a week, Monday-Thursday.  If Pyramid gets picked up, Richter could tape, say, three weeks of shows over a weekend.

Back before we knew how to tape things (as Betty White put it on SNL), lots of folks simply did more than one show a day every day.  I've got lots of news stories in my collection about how Bill Cullen would zip from one thing to the next, most notably how he'd wrap up his morning radio show and go straight from that to the 11am Price five days a week.  Hugh Downs did two hours of Today (pretty serious lifting, even back then) and followed that up with Concentration every day.

In today's world, if Richter is that one they want, of course they can work around his Conan schedule.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Were the shows live on Wednesday nights from 58-61 when Bill would do Price on NBC at 8:30pm, then would appear at 9:30pm on IGAS on CBS?  Both shows moved to Mondays in 61 with Price at 8:30 and IGAS at 10:30.

Still seems kinda strange that CBS would want to inadvertently cross-promote Conan.  Why not have Alan Kalter host?

Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Or the more killer schedule when Hugh Downs was on Jack Paar and Concentration.  At least Today and Concentration was reasonably back-to-back.

Kalter works in NY, while Pyramid will be in L.A. It's not impossible, but not sure how he'd feel about commuting every week.

When did the primetime Don't Forget the Lyrics air its final FOX episode? That didn't seem to be an issue for Wayne hosting LMaD.

Given the recent working arrangements between CBS and the Turner Broadcasting family (CBS-CNN rumors, CBS and Turner Sports successfully bidding on March Madness), it's becoming less of a surprise every day.

Mr. Kalter has a lot more experience on game shows than Andy Richter.  He's on CBS' late show and he's hosted game show pilots.  The guy actually worked on "$20,000 Pyramid" fer cryin out loud. What's absurd about that?

In all fairness, that doesn't make it that absurd, when you consider Howie Mandel or Jeff Foxworthy. I still think the commute thing would be a biggest problem, given The Late Show's schedule.
