Rod's ranking in the news
« on: November 01, 2003, 11:17:39 PM »
I didn't tell many people, but for the past week I was on a cruise to St. Thomas and St. Maarten, and therefore I didn't have access to the usual array of news outlets.  But one channel I *did* get on the stateroom TV is Oceansat, a text-based service with headlines updated a few times a day.  Rod Roddy's passing was the third headline on Oceansat when I tuned it in on Tuesday morning.

Needless to say, I was shocked... he will be dearly missed.  But I think it says a lot about him and his popularity that the only two stories deemed more important that day were an item on Iraq and the latest political volleys regarding the partial-birth abortion ban.

Rest in peace, Rod.
