Mics used on the 1978-1986 version of Tic Tac Dough.
« on: October 10, 2009, 02:29:37 PM »
Hello.

Now a number of mics have been used over the years on the 1978-1986 Tic Tac Dough (both CBS and Syndicated versions).

Exactly what mics were used by either Wink Martindale or Jim Caldwell on that show during it's CBS & Syn. runs?

Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks much in advance,
Chris Kennedy

You mean these?

Those would be the Sony ECM-53FP which were actually owned by Goodson-Todman but used by CBS wherever they pleased.

No, sorry Chris.  But I always admired those ECM-53 mics.  I also remembered those on Scrabble, and Pyramid.

I actually to be honest, meant the ones either Wink or Jim used in the endgame vs. the dragon.

Thanks much and have a great day Chris and folks.

All my best,
Chris Kennedy

I know the ECM51 was one of them. I also recall seeing the Electro-Voice DO56, and possibly the RE-18 or Shure SM61. I'd have to see a few screengrabs first to confirm.

You mean after explaining the game Caldwell had the brain power left to operate a microphone?  Amazing.

Oh man.  I apologize Chief-O.  I thought I read Matt Ottinger as your name next to your post.  My eyes must be going crazy.  LOL.

Great.  So that's three mics on the list.

I will try to post more screengrabs for you tomorrow.

Take care and best wishes.

Yours truly,
Chris
