By success, I am guessing that you mean critical success. Prior to last night's massive Globes win for Slumdog, a lot of folks probably hadn't heard of the movie. Looks like it was #11 in the box office this past weekend. Not saying that the Globes won't heighten awareness, but the movie certainly isn't a financial success in the U.S., yet.
That's a pretty short-sighted analysis, though. ...  This thing is easily going to be a moneymaker.  Saying Slumdog isn't a financial success yet is a little like saying Obama isn't president yet.  It's technically true at this moment, but irrelevant given its inevitability.
Just wanted to revisit my "inevitability" comment  Sure enough, Obama is president and even before its ten Oscar nominations this morning, Slumdog has already made $45 million in domestic box office alone.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

So if you can't get on a game show and win a million, make a movie about a game show and make 45 million.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Next year's sequel, Slumdog Show Me The Money - has box office gold written all over it....but only if Chris Pine plays the host.

Shouldn't that be Slumdog Eat Dog?
