Can you find a YouTube link? Because I quite honestly don't have the first clue of what you're going for here.

I'd love to, but YouTube seems to have nothing older than the original round of "This is SportsCenter" promos.

Meanwhile, I found out that the "SportsCenter" theme we all know and love was written by a woman (one of the co-writers of Faith Hill's song "This Kiss") and was written for ABC and Group W's unsuccessful Satellite News Channel in the early 80s--the music package that contained the theme was given to ESPN when ABC bought controllling interest in the channel.

[Paul Harvey] And now you know--the rest of the story. [PH]

I believe Don was referring to the old "SportsCenter" theme...

Indeed he was. It'll turn up someplace.
I found the 1985-87 theme from The CBS Morning News not long ago and was certain that'd be a lost cause. This one will appear in time as well.

WMAQ has decided that "New Year's Eve with The Tool" should hit midnight in the Central time zone instead of the Eastern time zone ... and is delaying it an hour Wednesday night.[/quote]

Actually, that was NBC's decision to delay it to *all* the CT stations. Everyone got an hour of local time to do with as they basically pleased. I seem to remember hearing one station re-ran SVU. WREX aired the Elton John at the Royal Opera House syndicated special. Again.

I'm not fluent in reading Dahdah, but I assume the SC theme in question is not Vangelis' "Pulstar"?

Nope.  Real instruments (and ESPN had stopped using commercial recordings by then).
