Game Show Idea: Who's The Mack?
« on: September 06, 2008, 10:43:19 PM »
A while back, I saw an episode of Charm School, which aired on VH1.  One of the episodes featured a bestselling author and PUA named Tariq Nasheed who showed the female participants that there are five types of men on the dating scene: Players, Professionals, Pushovers, Parolees, and The Urban Renaissance Man (aka the Mack).

With this new found knowledge, the participants were to attend a Charm School prom where there were an assortment of men who fell under the 4 Ps, but only one Urban Renaissance Man.  The objective for the participants was to mingle with the men and based on their demeanor, determine who was the Urban Renaissance Man.  The person(s) who made the right choice would be safe from elimination for a week.

Seeing this ep had me thinking that this might make a good game show, whereby the contestants were the non-UR men trying to bluff the women while in a particular dating situation, winning money for each UR vote he received, while the UR man would get a fixed amount for his appearance.  I think it's an interesting spin on the classic game show To Tell The Truth.

Here are some YouTube links to give this concept some perspective:

OK, with 71 views and no replies, I take it that posters here don't care for dating/relationship themed game shows, which I'm okay with, I'm not a fan of them either.  I just thought it would be a novel idea to combine a popular TV concept (dating/relationship show) and combine it with elements of a classic game show.   This may resonate with some people, YMMV.

Ok, I just thought it was a good idea for a game show.
