W/the video appearance by Pres. Bush on that night's show, I was wondering: Is this the first time in GS history that an active President appeared on a game show? I do know of a few who did so before taking office:

- Ronald Reagan was on the orig. WML and IGaS
- Gerald Ford was a Mystery Guest during the Bruner era of syndie WML
- Jimmy Carter was on during Blyden's tenure

...but never while IN office. Could this be a GS first?

All I know is that I could not POSSIBLY think of a more appropriate game show for this President to appear on than Deal or No Deal, a game that requires absolutely no brainpower whatsoever to play.

And the OP's question...GWB is probably the only sitting president to appear on a game.

Pretty sure it is.  Nixon was also on a game show, but long before he became president.  The only offbeat thing I can come up with that's remotely close to this was when Bill Clinton recorded a congratulatory message to Arsenio Hall (for the 1000th show, I think) about a year into his first term.

My take is, it's the perfect game show for someone WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHEN TO QUIT.

Well, that was when Ron Nessen hosted, who at the time was the presidential Press Secretary, quite a coup for a show that had only been on a year or so at the time.
