The Game Shows you just couldn't watch

For me, in no particular order:

Joker's Wild 1990 (they ruined it w/out the original format, changing too much, and that horrific theme music, torture chamber type!

Tic Tac Dough 1990 (horrible host, horrible endgame, erasing pots after ties.....totally ruined it)

Deal or no Deal (I liked it at first, but then it got way too campy and annoying)

The Gong Show (My father, may he rest in peace, loved this show, I couldn't stand it)

Quicksilver & Free 4 All (Terrible)

Scattergories (A $4,000 end game?  That seemed like such an odd amount, at least make it 5 grand!)

Scrabble 1993 (Seemed like a recession hit program, bonus squares adding to the sprint jackpot, very cheap)

Ten Seconds (A country-music based trivia show on the now name changed "Nashville Network")

There was a show w/Ross Shafer and a giant daisy, I can't remember it "Love me love me not" or something like that, just hideous.

Match Game '98.

Celebrity Hot Potato, Celebrity Bullseye too.

$100,000 Name That Tune w/Jim Lange.  Very campy and annoying show to me.

1989 Wheel of Fortune on CBS, el cheapo show with half the wheel spaces saying $100.

Big Deal w/Marc DeCarlo.....horrible show.

Identity (After about 10 minutes of this, I put on static instead)

Can't think of any others just now, probably due to mind block!

Thanks,
Bill McD.

Yes, that was Love Me, Love Me Not. It wasn't much of a game, just a few ladies reading romance stories and contestants deciding true or false.

The pilot for LM, LMN was hosted by Alex Trebek, and called Mama Non Mama (Love me, Love Me Not in french) It had 4 ladies and two male contestants, but I believe the object was to capture 3 out of 4. One amusing element of the pilot was Alex holding a daisy that had petals with dollar amounts each question was worth.

Celebrity Hot Potato, Celebrity Bullseye too.

With the exception of Celebrity Sweepstakes, anytime the word "Celebrity" is put in front of an established title.  "Celebrity Whew!" anyone?

Ditto, the words "All Star".

joker316 likes All-Star Blitz, you're saying? Because (based on what little of it I've seen) I surely don't.

Joker316 is entitled to an opinion, but I hardly think All-Star Blitz is anywhere NEAR the same echelon of bad as  TTT/TJW90, Big Deal, etc.

I can think of a few shows. One show I never really liked that I know is well liked around here is Child's Play. I don't know, gameplay moved too slow, and I guess you have to be a big fan of kids stuff.
Card Sharks 2K1 was pretty awful. Completely flawed main game, and the stupid Street Smarts like videos made it pretty dumb. Seemed like they changed the Money Cards for the sake of being different (The pyramid instead of the normal game board, though that was the least of it's problems).
TJW '90 was a VERY dull game, IMO. I'm a big fan of the original, but I actually had remembered the '90 version more and thought it was boring before I saw the original again. The constant answering of questions and the flawed main game (keeping control of the machine if you answered wrong and the rest of your opponents did too?) made the show stupid. Bonus game was kinda fun though, with the matching three prizes and the Joker's Jackpot.
Apologies if I strayed off topic (since I did see more then a few episodes of some of these) :)

It's hard to think of a game show that I didn't like, but I saw "Temptation" once and was done with it. Never sat through an episode of "Studs", either.

In the pilot area, I have tried three times to watch "What Are My True Colors", an 80s pilot with Richard Simmons.  I can't get past the first few minutes.

I've gotta ask.....Richard Simmons tried his hand at a game show????? From what you could tell, what was the premise of this show?

Maybe, I should clarify. Like the word "Celebrity" attached to an established show's title, when a producer adds the words "All-Star" it usually ruins the show. I do not recall a game with the title "Blitz", I do recall All Star Blitz. And it is nowhere near as bad as TJW/TTD'90, etc.

Simmons was one of two celebrity players, not the host.  The host was somebody I've never heard of named Mike Jarrett or Mike Jared or something like that.  Working off an old memory, teams of celebrities and civilians answered personality questions to establish which of four color-coded personality types they most resembled.

There is a True Colors website that claims to have been doing this sort of thing "for over 26 years," so it wouldn't surprise me at all if the pilot and the organization were related.   There is also a board game with a similar theme that probably ties into all of this, though I've stopped short of considering it a game show home game for the purposes of my website.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Not sure if this is right.....but might it be Mike Jarrett of "The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet"?  Previous to TMS and Fox News, he was one of the three hosts of USA's "Alive and Well".
