I've always thought the best "Scrabble" clues were ones that could have multiple answers right off the bat (take my first one...possible answers of [color=\"#FFFFFF\"]SOCKS[/color] and [color=\"#FFFFFF\"]JEANS[/color] come to mind immediately).

Pittsburgh stealers

or even make them both singular: a Pittsburgh stealer

While the solving of the puzzles isn't horrible, the whole "right answers give you a card, spell "D-I-R-T-Y" with your cards thing completely didn't work for me.

For me, anyway, much of the reason that so many of these clues fall flat is that I'm reading them instead of hearing them, like what happened on the show. That's also why I think that the online recreations are a poor substitute for the real thing. A trade you have to make, of course, but still, part of the fun is not seeing that Chuck's card says "knight school" when you hear "night school."

/But then, like you said, many of the submissions to date on this thread have been either risque more than clever, or just one-dimensional. (I did like "Some people will give you a penny for them, though." That was decent.)
