Wow.

Wonder if Miss Teen South Carolina's going to be on the show.

Now I'm no English major, but if this is going to be taken as seriously as it seems, than I think there's a problem with the title.

Well, I think that's actually kind of the point.

As do I...let's not forget the stereotype that models aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the lamps.

But you know Mello...won't go for stereotypes unless they're the ones about liberal arts majors working in fast food, right?

I'm finding myself surprised at the number of people on various message boards who think this is a genuine grammatical mistake on the part of the producers, and not the obvious joke that it is.

I think that's actually the basis for Fox's soon-to-be-announced ripoff of America's Most Smartest Model. ;-)

Silly me, I thought there would be a modicum of dignity to this event and not just the cast of Zoolander competing.

No.

A reality show about testing the intelligence of models, with an obvious grammatical error in the title and the presence of Ben Stein, and you're looking for dignity?

Yeah, I'll be honest, that was pretty silly of you.

Maybe...an apology would have suited even better, which you never offered.

I beg of you, don't clump all of us math majors into the "silly" category.  (BA Math and BA Education, Cleveland State '06 here.)  Subbing "drama" in won't help your cause either; my sister majored in Drama for two years at Ohio University before four years in Fashion Design at Kent State.  Getting booted by the OU Drama head was the best thing to happen to her; she's making a decent living in the world of fashion.

Of course you don't combine superlatives like that! I'll be watching Masterpiece Theatre instead."

I seriously doubt it. They'll laugh at the premise and maybe watch. Or not.

You can have a college degree and still produce industrial sized buckets of fail. (God knows you've created plenty of it here.)

A friend of mine dutifully sat through his four year anthropology degree, and he's a school sanitation engineer. My stepmother didn't go to college, and turned a po-dunk insurance company into a thriving one with fifty clients and roughly that many employees. I should be so lucky to duplicate her success, and I only have a Dilettante Special. The degree isn't what matters, it's the person.

You are not in the position to judge someone's worthiness based on the degree they've chosen to pursue, or not pursue. No one is. End, cue overture, roll credits.

Why is that so hard to grasp?

Because he doesn't want to admit he's wrong.

You know, I'm surprised a Rule Five penalty flag wasn't thrown on Mello.

Why is it so hard to believe that Joe doesn't think he's wrong?  Among other things, we've had a guy who thinks it's okay to make up my own abbreviations and use capital letters only when he feels like it, at least two guys who thought it was okay for them to post error-laden Millionaire summaries but not okay for others to point out those errors, and of course, numerous people who think it's perfectly okay to believe anything they read anywhere and post it here as "news."  Is it really so hard to imagine that there's someone else who just doesn't Get It?

I don't see an intent to insult any specific member, or even a large number of members, of the board — plain and simple.   He probably doesn't get that with the membership we have, no matter what major he chooses to slam we probably have more than a few people who pursued it.  Is that something that should be obvious?  Clearly.  Would this be the first time someone didn't Get It even when It is something that should be obvious?  You know the answer to that as well as I do. :-)

If he keeps it up it may be a different matter; we'll see.

All I know is that if it was me that said it, I'd be forced to apologize if I hadn't already done so.
