Just like he's done in the past with "...5th Grader?", "Trading Spouses" and "Nanny 911," Mike Darnell's staging a pre-emptive strike on another network's show--this time NBC's "Singing Bee," which is set for November.  The very similar "Don't Forget the Lyrics!", hosted by Wayne Brady, premieres July 11 and 12:

Neither article nor Fox press release announced a regular time slot for the show.

Meanwhile, CBS has announced an Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. ET premiere for the Drew Carey/Michael Davies game "Power of 10."  It'll then move into its regular Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET slot the next night.

I can actually get behind this one... (probably won't happen, but) if NBC is forced to scrap Singing Bee and instead does more eps of 1 vs. 100, then we're all winners. Plus, it gives Wayne Brady another gig.

Which is good, 'cuz then he won't have to go back to his previous between-jobs gig.

/Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a b**ch?

BTW, a Variety article says that "DFTL!" will air on both Wednesdays and Thursdays, eventually going to an hour--is "...5th Grader?" going on hiatus for the summer soon or is "Dance" cutting back or moving around?

According to my contact at FOX, the Wednesday Dance will be cut down to 90 minutes to make room for Lyrics.  And on Thursdays, 5th will be cut to 30 minutes, followed by Lyrics (except, of course, when Lyrics airs for an hour).

Well, NBC has fired back... per a promo during Last Comic Standing last night, Singing Bee has been moved all the way up to a July 10 start.

Well I suppose the main good news about this is that if Singing Bee fails, we could potentially have an uninterrupted Fall of 1 VS 100.

Fixed for likelihood.  As much as I prefer 1 vs 100, it's a lot easier for the peacock to churn out Deal.
This signature is currently under construction.

NBC responded to Fox's scheduling decision by apparently calling Mike Darnell "Mr. Poopy Pants," then ordered a rush job for "Singing Bee," which will premiere July 10th after *America's Got Talent,* one day before the premiere of *Don't Forget the Lyrics*.
