Sam Waterston - EADA Jack McCoy, Law & Order, NBC
And Mr. Waterston is also a compensated spokesman for Old Glory Insurance.
There's also the TD Waterhouse spots, the ones where he was shot so that he was rarely looking into the right camera.

To me, Mr. Waterston will always be the astronaut who was on the mission with Mr. Brolin and Mr. Simpson that didn't really go to Mars.

It's a little out of date, but there's a fan site.

Isn't his voice also featured in the commercials for "The Nation"?

(Nice to see him comin' back to J!.)

Not just the Tri-state--back when WWOR was a superstation (a la WGN and TBS) I saw the show too.
Wow, what a flashback.  I wasted many a Sunday morning in the late 80s watching Cantone's antics on Steampipe Alley.

ObGS:  Slime Time and Treasure Mall were on WWOR on Sunday mornings during each show's 13 week run.

Waterston was also in two of Woody Allen's best movies, "Hannah and her Sisters" and "Crimes and Misdemeanors." And he was Nick Carraway in that lousy "Great Gatsby" movie with Robert Redford. He's good.

Waterston also did that one SNL skit where you for the insurance from killer robots.

I heard Red Sock (pun intended) Curt Schilling is joining the J! hijinks.

/FYI, Schilling plays for the Red Sox and is famous for pitching with a bloody red sock in the World Series

That was the "Old Glory" insurance ad that was mentioned in an earlier post.  My God what a funny sketch, his deadpan just killed me.

And I'm sure he'll get a warm reception in New York City.

Well, if as long as he's not in Boston, the most likely crowd response is to want to staple his mouth shut.  After all, he's a human sound byte.

/And you thought some of the people here were annoying.

Is Schilling as annoying as Mario Cantone?

Every time he was on Pyramid, I wanted to reach through the screen and smack him.

Cantone was just as bad when he was a guest programmer with Robert Osborne on TCM a while back, so I guess he's always that way.

According to Steve Beverly, here are the names the first press release left out:

Kathryn Erbe (Law & Order: Criminal Intent)
Hill Harper (CSI: NY)
Miguel Ferrer (Crossing Jordan)
Michael McKean (Laverne & Shirley)
Harry Shearer (The Simpsons)
Brian Stokes Mitchell (Broadway veteran)
Margaret Spellings (Secretary of Education)
Scott Turow (Mystery author)

Aside from those first two, minor supporting actors on popular series, this is still a B+ list.  Fans of celebrity games from the late seventies and eighties will be happy to see Michael McKean and Brian Mitchell back in the fold.

I do wonder now if they're going to try a "Battle of the Law and Orders" show, since they have reps from all three versions (Erbe, Meloni, and Waterson)
