That's nice. I didn't know about the 'Whammy!' pilot. That's a real shame he didn't get the job. The show would have had a lot more appeal to me.

I was just glad to see PYL on the air again in some form.  It wasn't the original, but the excitement was still there.  According to Jason Antoniewicz, an audio clip of Garry Kroeger introducing Peter on the pilot does exist somewhere.

Brad Francini has/had pieces from the Tomarken Whammy pilot on his site.

Note to John and anyone else with an existing PYL fan site.

You're more than welcome to use the following obituary image I made...

...no need to credit me for the creation.  It's Peter after all you're crediting.

Gary refers to Peter as the host and "head Whammy Wrangler"...thank goodness that Todd wasn't referred to as that.

I think I remember that.  As a matter of fact, I remember not being able to download it because at the time, formatting this computer after getting a worm turned it into a piece of (WATCH YOUR MOUTH, JOHN!).  By the time I got this thing fixed, the clips had to be taken down.

It is a shame indeed. While I thought Todd was a great host for Whammy!, Peter certainly hadn't lost his touch. He was great in his pilot.

What could have been... :(

RIP Peter

Does anyone know what were the factors in the hosting decision? It would be naive not to suspect the age thing but it hasn't worked against Chuck Woolery.
