Watch for it on GSN's next presentation of Password Plus if there's time to play Alphabetics. Tom will say, "Go!" and he'll then do The Kennedy Twist before heading offstage.
This joins Art James' ballet step on the list of emcee choreography noticed by me.

I was always partial to the Larry Blyden sidestep. From what I read, he did it because as a Broadway performer, he wanted to avoid turning his back to the audience.
-
I liked the "Robin Ward Hustle."

Can anyone confirm if Matt Ottinger does the swing on Quizbusters?
-
By watching an episode, you can see for yourself that he doesn't. There's not really an entrance as such. (Which is a good thing, because if the light reflected off of his head wrong as he moved...)
/ I'ma gonna go to hell when I die...
// Or the isolation booth first...
/// Yes I get the joke, no sound effects necessary. Should we put a swing set up on the front page and be done with it?
-
Matt has an entrance. They cut to three different cameras during it, it's so smooth.
What about Donny Osmond's "you're the man/eye poke" exit when the Winner's Circle started? And Sajak steps over that power cord like nobody's business.

I can think of two. When Bob walks through the big doors, he always does this sorta slight upward fist pump, kinda like "yeah, i'm here! "The other is this sorta bend back thing that Ray Combs sometimes did as he walked from one family to the other after they got a 3rd strike or when walking across to introduce each of the two. He often did it while making jokes in the middle of the game as well.

I was always partial to those first eps of P+ where an excited Ludden would enter, throw his hand out to the audience, and then "wave" (not really a wave, but I think you'll know what I mean) over to the main game area, and the cameras would follow his wave, so it looked like he was moving the cameras with the "wave."
Watch the premiere of P+ if you're wondering what I mean.
Also, of course, Jim Peck's famous choreographed Big Showdown entrance.
(OT: favorite "choreography" on TV this year is when David Caruso puts on his sunglasses at the beginning of CSI: Miami, right before the scream going into the intro music!)

Often imitated, never duplicated!
...fine, so nobody imitated.

Didya ever notice that on all his shows, including "American Bandstand," Dick Clark never danced?
-
As witnessed several years ago at a GSC somewhere in the Midwest, Alex Trebek's
"'Pitfall' Dance" with Margaret has to be either 1st or 2nd on the list af all-time game show dance steps.
BTW, "The Kennedy Twist" by The Narz Brothers peaked at #206 for 2 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100/"Bubbling Under" Charts in late April of 1982.
-
You talk about Ray Combs and forget about his little quirky one legged moonwalk-hop style dance in the first few weeks of his first season hosting Feud as a dance step. Shame on you...lol.
-
Legend has it that announcer John Harlan entertained audiences between shows with "The Harlan Shuffle." :)
-
If it's anything like Randy West's lap dances, I'm worried. : )
-
I personally liked the Bob Eubanks stair song. Each day as he came down the stairs on Dream House he would sing Ba da ba ba ba ba.

A Magazine show did a profile of Johnny Olsen warming up a TPIR audience back in the 80's. During this warm up he did a very Good Michael Jackson moonwalk. I sure wish I had a tape of that. Mr. Olsen was smooth!

You can find that profile on "Classic PRICE IS RIGHT clips" on top of the "Special exhibits" section second from the bottom of the page.
You'll need QuickTime 7 player to watch it. RealOne player works also.

P.S. It was from 1982. ;)
